Hey guys,

In pages templates, I can drag in address book cards and it fills in names, addresses etc... and would like to be able to do this in Numbers...

If you create a table with a header row containing things like Name, Company, Address, etc, then you can drag to this and it populates the table...

However, I am using this to generate invoices, so to create something in this format:

Company Name
Address (Line 1)
Address (Line 2)
Address (Line 3)
Address (Line 4)
Post Code

doesn't seem possible... does anyone know how to do this? I have used Pages for my invoices in the past, but the limitations of the tables not being able to talk to each other became a problem so I did it in a printable spreadsheet instead and its more suitable in all ways except this one...

Any ideas?

Go up to the help and search for 'Using address book fields' and it explains it. Basically if you give the columns the right names, you can drag vcards onto it from address book and it will then take the data from them as they're dragged in.

For example make a table, and give the columns the headers

first name
last name
work phone
work address
company

and it will use the data from those fields in the address book cards :)

You just need to use the right headers and one of the links on the help page is a list of the right headers.

thanks for the reply, however... i have already tried it like that and yes it works, but how on earth could you get the data formatted like so:

Company Name
Address (Line 1)
Address (Line 2)
Address (Line 3)
Address (Line 4)
Post Code

since the company seems to have to be next to the address and can't be above it?
