Bigger box!
Hi,

I'd very much like Numlock to be on when I boot my PC, but I can't get the bugger to do it!
I've just re-installed Windows 7, all the same hardware, all the same drivers and as far as I'm aware all the same settings everywhere.

Before the re-install numlock would remain on at boot.

I'm running windows 7 and have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard and a Roccat Isku keyboard.

There is nothing relevant I can see in the keyboard drivers, I've looked in the bios (f12) at boot up and it says that numlock should be enabled at boot.
I've even tried disabling numlock at boot in bios, rebooting, then enabling it again. Still no joy.

I've been into regedit and changed the 'Initialkeyboardindicators' value to 2, as below

Still no joy.

I'm confuzzled and out of ideas. Anyone??

Cheers :)

on my laptop there is an option in the bios to have it on at boot

He said he'd looked there. Answer is above anyway.

Just to extend this a little, does windows activate num-lock by effectively pressing it during boot time? If so would turning num-lock off in the bios actually end up having it in the on state by the time windows has booted?

Yeah, I was able to turn numlock on and off manually at the login screen no problem.
I had tried booting with numlock enabled in bios and with it disabled in bios because I had the same thought as you, but it made no difference.
