I got my NUS card and got told about this NUS extra and checked it out

They also gave me £25 for opening a student account

i got one last year, costing £10. never used it - only as ID to get into NUS nights.. wish i never bought the "extra" version, but it didnt seem like i had a choice with my uni..

Pah, when I started uni in 2001 you used to get 10-20% off everywhere and the plus options e.g. £40/year would get you in free entry to £3.50 guild nights (used to be massively popular in Liverpool) every Monday and Saturday - do the math. I can't believe they rip you off the way they do now hehe..

Yup worth it, this year i think they are doing money off for things like dominos and as with previous years most high street stores.

Will prolly have to pay the tenner again for a new one :/

Or would the card from last year still be valid ?

Yes an NUS Extra is worth it. Spend £20 at Dominos and get 25% off. :eek:

No they have a lifespan. Mine expires next month. Will get a new one at Uni.
