I dno much about cordless desktops but do the work on generic drivers?

Did you try removing it from the registry? Definitely sounds like a driver issue, especially if its producing different effects by doing the same operation...

cordless desktops work sans drivers, and even in the machines bios normally.

My guess is batteries in the keyboard are running low, which can cause some very odd results as it may not have enough power to properly register which key is pressed.

If running it in "secure mode" (encrypted) rerun the securemode setup in the logitech driver app.
