Is this a good or bad mobo for quads? I've just received a very cheap P35 from the mm but now seen this at a very good price. I wont be going SLI right now but I could be in the future. So is it worth selling the P35 and moving to the 790i or keeping what I have?

This will be with a Q9450 and 4gb DDR3. Something to note here is that the RAM is 2 x 1gb 1066 and 2 x 1gb 1333. I seem to recall nV being better with regards to memory when overclocking (ie you can lock the mem speed independantly of fsb).

NV are so much better at clocking memory however they are kinda limited when it comes to FSB clocking (they top out at around 450). They are however awesome boards with the problems associated with the 680i boards all but gone and they have loads of features so unless you are wanting 450+ fsb speeds, get one.

The board I currently have (not installed yet) is a P35 MSI Diamond DDR3. The CPU has a multiplier of 8; which board do you think is likely to hit the higher FSB? It sounds like the P35?

To be honest I'm leaning towards keeping the P35 (got it very cheap) and putting the difference in money towards better gfx.
