Been experimenting lately with lowering details in bf3. Normally i run the game at 1920x1200, max settings in the game menu, (blur off as it hurts my eyes). My gtx 670 is running a pretty high oc, +120 core, +760 memory. Stable as a rock since i got it. I can easily average 70fps in bf3. I decided one night to lower all settings in game to low, bar mesh on ultra, and set an fps limit of 70fps in afterburner. A few minutes into a round i was getting freezes and game stoped responding errors that reported a driver issue. Went back to no frame limit and the game played flawlessly. Thought this a bit strange as the card had less work to do due to lower settings, but yes fps were much higher. Temps were down a fair bit, 59c versus 67c max with the game maxed out.
