NV purevideo question

ok 1) does my gpu support it? 2) is it vista only 3) does this only work for HD vids 4) if no to 3, will this enhance any normal dvd (such as LOTR dvd from the extended edition box set)

and can someone explain it a little for me, the website points to no for all my questions, but isnt very clear.

Yes your GPU supports Purevideo1, Whats it does and doesnt do is in link bellow, the newer 8500/8600 have Purevideo2 purely as they came out later.

MS removed functions from WMP11 for XP so you need use WMP11 in Vista or stick to WMP10+2 hot fixes for XP.
