i have googled and found many people have problems with nForce drivers, and this file seems to be the culprit. for many different reasons for each person, it seems.
for some people their system goes into bsod when they try to burn a dvd, others it is when they play a game, but for me it seems to be within the first few seconds of startup.
this morning after leaving my pc alone for two days i decided to have another go, and, what? it started. it worked. good god, whats going on? i ran memtest and to my relief my ram is in perfect working order. all my hardware is fine. hooray. now i think i will put in that soundcard i have lying around since i hear onboard ruins performance. turn it off. plug it in. turn it on. oh no bsod is back
i have since thrown the sound card away, i have changed nothing, it must have been a freak errorless hour.. i don't know what my chances of getting another one of them are, so i have no idea how to uninstall the nForce drivers.
that is all i want to do. uninstall them.
i installed another windows on the same drive and that loads up fine on the stock drivers (it detects my ata drive, but nothing onboard works, i'll figure that one out later). i realise i could copy my user over and start fresh, but i just plain don't want to. i don't see why a stupid driver should dictate my computer usage!
so if anyone can tell me how to uninstall this (aparently) bug filled driver compilation i would be very pleased.
