Been reading some info on this updated card..anybody know when these will be available for purchase?
was about to buy a standard 260 gtx for my new build but now I'll wait for one of these slightly improved monsters.

my new spec will be:
core 2 duo 8500
asus 650i mobo
corsair xms2 4 gb ram
260 gtx core 216
coolermaster 700w psu
Vista 64 bit home premium
samsung t220 monitor 22 inch

any thoughts on this spec?..Im def getting the sammy panel so I'll be gaming at 1680x 1050...are any of these components overkill for that resolution?
Im thinking the 700 w psu may be too much but you hear differing advice.
I will be playing Crysis and other demanding games so I need smooth frame rates and settings on high(where possible)

absolutely awful motherboard, why on earth would you even consider getting that? get a p45 asus one:

or a p35 asus one if you want a cheaper one:

also, the 4870 is quite a bit cheaper than the 260 216sp and is faster in most games, and yes the psu is overkill, you could go for a 520w modular corsair one which has excellent cable management =)

Get a faster, cheaper 4870, or if you have to get a 260, then get the 192 stream one as its only 2-3 frames slower than new 216 streamer. :)

CLAIMED \o/ and welcome :p

Y'know, I don't think you have to post anymore. Your comments just sort of get said now without any actual typing needing to be done. :)

I'm not being serious obv.

If you have the money for a gtx260 216 change the motherboard to a crossfire mobo and buy 2x4850 will be much faster and you will playing on the perfect resolution for it.

I have the BFG 260 GTX OC MAXCORE (216sp) turning up tomorrow so I'll post some benchies and see how far it OCs.
