Hi guys,
I just received a XFX Nvidia 295 GTX and was planning to install it but after swapping out my old graphics card the system would boot but not display anything on the screens. After some fiddling around I found that if I put it in the second pci express slot the system worked fine but here comes the annoying part my second pci express slot is only x4 not x16.
My system is as follows
Q6600 @ 3.2
Abit AB9 Quad GT Bios -17
4Gb OCZ PC8500
ATI 4870 512Mb (Old Card)
XFI PCI sound card
1x500gb HDD and 1x750gb HDD
OCZ ModXTremePro 700W Silent
2 x Samsung SyncMaster 206BW
I was wondering why the card will not work in the first pci-e slot which is the quickest but for some reason works in the slower one?
I have looked around on the internet but cannot see why it would not work.
Any Help would be appreciated.
