Guys,

I have tried downloading the latest driver for my 780 about 8 times. The driver loads fine, Physx and 3d drivers load fine, but, when it comes to installing Geforce Experience, it stalls nothing happens for ages (left it for an hour), In then have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to get it too stop working.

This is a fresh instal of the driver as it's a new card. Did CCleaner and a driver clean before hand to remove all the old drivers.

I've been on to 3 different Ahmeds at Nvidia who after ages of slowly moving converstations, advise a reboot and a reload of 331.58 clean install. This done and even the .58 doesn't install fully, gets about 50% into it and stalls, and by that stage your onto a new adviser who has to start it all over again!

Anyone had this issues or manage to come up with a fix? I'd like to be able to try ShadowPlay.

Running Windows 8.1.

I had a GTX 660 before hand but never had Geforce Experience.

Help!!

I'm getting rather frustrated and am even thinking about a complete CClean wipe of my Storage drivers and a fresh Windows install.

Have you tried removing the NVidia folder on the root of C? It puts decompressed install files there so before running the setup program again make sure the old decompressed setup files are gone. I can't see this being the problem but worth a try

Not sure where the rest of the graphics stuff is stored, probably some in Windows system folders.

I'm running Windows 8.1 and not had this.

Also have you tried running the install as administrator? Instead of double-clicking, right click and choose Run as administrator. Not sure if it will make a difference but if there's a file it cant overwrite due to permissions this might help

ALso, after uninstalling you could go to Device Manager to make sure it's gone. If not right click and remove (or uninstall)

I've been having another driver related issue with Windows 8.1 - after installing Virtual Box and later rebooting (reboot is not required after install) I lose all Wifi and no amount of installing/uninstalling fixes it. Took a fresh installs to diagnose it was actually virtual box as it didn't request a reboot and later when I do, bang, the wifi has gone. All worked fine under Windows 7

I'll give it another try under admin Darren good thought didn't think of that. I just can't understand what the issue is. The nvidia guys told me to disable my firewall and anti virus and try to download that way.

That'll be the last resort.

You could also try uninstalling all Nvidia stuff then giving this a quick shot:

It seems very thorough from my limited experience with it, and the programmer behind it is updating and improving it regularly. Let that scrub the Nvidia registry entries and leftover files, then try again.
As with all programmes of this type, limited, specific use, not regular use, and caution is recommended.

For what its worth, Geforce Experience is limited, and I don't always agree with it's choice of settings, but it IS nice at times to just configure a game as per it's profile with usually decent performance/quality for your card, and not spend hours buggering around with settings. My fiancee is a gamer as well and I know before now she's accused me of at times tinkering with a games settings to get the compromise perfect more than actually playing games...

Does help reduce/shorten that side of things. It actually seems to support quite a few of the more popular games nowadays too.

So long and short, don't rely on it, but it is handy to get going quicker.

Have you got .net 4x installed ?
Most likely you haven't

Spot on ta.

Working like a charm now.

Thanks for the suggestion Akex, I'll bear that in mind if I have any other driver issues!
