RTX 4080 TI = approx. £1,000 RRP.

RTX 4080 released 3-6 months later, RRP £750-£850.

Slightly different tier/model layout than 3000 series but similar pricing except for the 2 top tier cards (90/ti/Titan tier) which will be significantly increased in price.

Guaranteed it will be borderline ridiculous. Glad I managed to get my 3070 for RRP and sell my Vega 56 for what I paid for it 3 years prior.

4080 is rumoured to not be using the AD102 die this time so you need to be careful about your thinking and comparisons with the 3080.

Its important because if true Nvidia will not want to price a 4080 like a 4070 but in reality that's what your getting due to their segmentation. Some might argue what does it matter? It matters because in these scenarios you're paying more for what you could/should arguably have got a bit like buying a Pint of beer and getting 0.5lts.

So in answer to the OP die-to-die generation comparisons I think will go up, but product SKUs will remain similar with the exception of halo products hidden behind all manner of marketing smoke & mirrors to make you think its not that bad.

It will simply come with the same die as the 4070 but with more enabled/functional shaders, probably a higher power limit to push it faster. Nvidia don't want to give gamers the 102 die at 80-class SKU products because its more costly for them to manufacture. To me that makes sense if your talking about a £400 product but you're not here they already take a colossal margin. This is one of the reasons a £650 3080 was in such high demand, it wasn't amazing value it was simply closer to something that was more reasonable.

What they will most likely do is not release a 4080Ti type product leaving them the option to use a 102 die if they feel pressured by AMD, but they will rake over anyone and everyone they can before doing that. Sorry if that comes across as negative it just wears you down having to deal with Nvidia's bs each generation.

Maybe they will have an SKU for the RTX 4090/ 4080 TI (highest power), another for the RTX 4080 and one for moderate power graphics cards like the RTX 4070/4060 TI.

4080ti/4090/ti at release. They will claim to be inflation busting keeping the existing pricing ie £1000-£2000, but effectively will have shifted the skus up a notch with the 4080 no longer being in the biggest chip and 4th tier. 2 months later the 4080 will come out when they have had chance to see how people react to AMD's offering and the crypto mining end.

I had thought they would go 5000 naming scheme and use revamped Samsung 8nm models for a low end 4000 lineup ala the 1660s vs 2000 series. But latest rumors have shied away from that.

It all depends. They don't price in a vacuum. What will AMD do? What will happen in the global economy? Will there be a second hand market awash with ex-mining cards?

All those factors will influence the pricing. I expect they will want to up the prices +$100 over the 3XXX series MSRP but I think other factors will keep them in check.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 4080ti stays about the same price, as the FE 3080ti stayed in stock for a long time last restock. I can see the 4070 having more memory say 12Gb and costing the same as the 3070ti. I also see the 4060 costing a bit more than the 3060. Hopefully with more stock of the 4050 at a keener price than the 3050 launch price to cater for those upgrading from the 1060

I think something along the lines of:

£800-900: 4080
£600: 4070 (3090 perf.)
£450: 4060 (3080 perf.)

I reckon they'll also keep the 3060 Ti and below on sale at current MSRP rather than backfill with 4050's etc.

Remember with each gen we always thought they would pull our pants down and they never. Remember we thought the 980 Ti would be £650-£700? And the 1080 Ti would be £899+ Turing was the first surprise in a bad way price wise which backfired and Nvidia knows that..

4060 - £419.99 - this will be closer to the 4060 Ti than what the 3060 is vs 3060 Ti. 90-95% of the 3080.

4060 Ti - £469.99 I see this as approx 15% faster than 3080. Remember 3060 Ti can get close with the 2080 Ti which was the flagship of Turing. (Excluding Titan RTX) 3080 is the 4th top tier card I feel 3080 is in a different position vs the 2080 Ti.

4070 - £539.99 approx 35-40% faster than 3080

4080 - £699.99 approx 70% faster than 3080.

The remaining top tiers will likely remain at the same price levels..
