NVIDIA 4000 Series

I just checked an online US retailer for 3080's and 3070's. I don't think I have ever seen so many "refurbished" cards for sale. I wonder if mining farms have sold their stock in bulk to some of these marketplace sellers.

All used GPU prices are ridiculous at moment, a Used 3080 should be like £200 given it has no warranty.

The entire market is screwed up. And judging by the way people are buying 4070ti's, it will be for the foreseeable future. Despite getting terrible reviews and being wildly overpriced, the 4070ti is selling well it seems. Almost predictably people will buy any old NVIDIA poop as long as they have deep enough pockets. I give up, I really do. I am out of the two yearly updates now. No idea when I will next update. Maybe never!

It is not just Nvidia poop. They buying AMD poop too it seems. I am sure (hoping) next gen will be better, this is just a turding gen.

Considering a PNY card. Go to the website to check it out and there is this warning;

Nice to know lol.

It won't be 800w. 550w
Nvidia know a 30% faster 7900xtx (7950xtx) is likely (bumhug worked out the free die space in the other thread) and looks easier to do by the day as the navi31 yields are superb, maybe too good.

nvidias design is not as scalable as AMDs now so the only way for nvidia to go is sheer brute force.

4090 strix is topping out at 660watts draw so an 800watt cooler design (gulp) for a 4090ti seems credible but the performance jump is going to need to be so big over a 4090 that just giving it a ‘ti’ badge seems to undersell such a card and Titan feels more likely.
