NVIDIA 4000 Series

At the moment I still have my 1080 Ti that I'm again looking to replace. I was looking at either a 4070 or a 4070 Ti. As things stand at the moment should these be what I'm aiming for? Anything higher seems to be out of my price range and I'd most likely need to get a new PSU as well.

Got to say I feel incredibly thick having looked at the above assuming that they must have gotten their hands on a 16gb model but it turns out it's just a new 8gb model with a particularly fancy cooler. Confusing thing to publish today.

I mean I would if it was at a decent price, but I have no idea how AMD compares to Nvidia these days.

The 7900XT is between the 4070Ti and the 4080. The 7900XTX is slightly ahead of the 4080. But AMD are worse at ray tracing and upscaling.

A 7900XT is about 12% faster than a 4070ti and 35% faster than a 4070 in raster, in RT it sits between the two but also has 8gb more VRAM than either of the Nvidia cards which going forward 12gb is likely to become an issue in the near future consider it’s only 1gb more than a 1080ti had 7 years ago so if you plan to keep the card for a good while then the 7900XT will definitely have some extra mileage.

I know a few people here said they have really good, silent Zotac units. Just wanted to be sure no one has fans like this then? (Not mine) From the comments in the video Zotac reps said its normal and "they never advertised it as silent" and they "don't here anything wrong in this video". If that's the case definitely the Asus and MSI fans are miles better.

My 2080 is a zotac and the fans are noisy once the card gets hot which it 100% of the time when gaming, its putting me off getting zotac 4090 if i do decide to get one.
