NVIDIA 4000 Series

Out of curiosity do these cards being limited edtion actually add/have and long term value? How much are previous limited edition cards from previous gen going for? Can’t see it with gpus myself but stand corrected if otherwise.

Anything more than £999 for their top end SKU is ridiculous imo. But then again I don't even mind if they want to milk those who pay. Just give me the next one down for £749. I mean geez that's a lot of money anyway ffs..
This is Asus though, remember when new cards used to come out and the initial offerings were just reference boards, asus always managed to be more expensive even on those. That sticker they stuck on the cooler musta been worth £30 or so more.

I'll give you RT, although a cheaper 7900XTX beats the 4080 at it for £200-£300 less an overage, but hey ho...:D

I get the impression you are one of the people who see a game running better on AMD hardware than Nvidia hardware and also sees the game has some RT affects so conclude that AMD must now be on the same footing as Nvidia when it comes to RT. Unfortunately that is not the case... The fact is that the game in question (there are a few that fit this category) is only using some extremely basic RT that doesn't have much impact on performance even on consoles but does allow them to advertise RT to try and grab some extra sales. It's simply a game that likes AMD hardware so performs better than on Nvidia hardware. RT has nothing to do with it.

The simple fact is that the 7900XTX is only barely above a 3080 (10GB) in actual RT performance and far behind the 4080

lmao it has coil whine, what a pile of ****

My gigabyte Xtreme RTX4090 has the same temps as this, same overclocking performance, costs almost half the price and has zero coil whine

And the best part, I've been gaming with it for almost a year now, imaging waiting a year to buy this overpriced matrix card lmao

This slide also shows why you shouldn’t really consider a 4080 for RT either when spending over a grand as a 4090 is that much faster

The only RT that will ever become mainstream is software RT. UE5 games with lumen are starting to come out and AMD gpus perform just as well as Nvidia.

Hardware RT will go the way of Physx, Hairworks and other Nvidia gimmicks.

Doubtful, with AMD heading into the AI market, they will use cut-down hardware and features from these, which will no doubt appear in the next-gen consoles and probably incorporate hardware RT.

I get the impression you think i'm someone who cares about artifical benchmarks.

None of them (reviewers) have an idea how many of these will be made, they are mass produced and not limited edition cards clearly by how many that have ended up at reviewers worldwide.

They also would be numbered if they were a limited edition and come with a certificate type thing to say what number it is and out of how many. Asus has clearly not said how many and this is because they want to see what the demand is and make more as they go along.. Like any other product they sell and make.

Edit: I see it was the ASUS rep that stated 1000-2000, question how do they not know how many will be made ? Because there is no real number and depends on the demand of the card and clearly not numbered so buyers will never know how many really are out there and how "limited" they really are. Also doesn't even know the price.... but on the ASUS site at $3199.99... Asus rep lol...

Hopefully it's very popular guys, Gibbo's ferrari needs new tyres, vroom vroom :D

The more you spend, the more you save!

4090 is a no brainer this gen. Very happy with my decision to grab one on release day. The rest of the 4000 series lineup is terrible, performance per £ wise.
