NVIDIA 4000 Series

Looks like the return to the old days of titan vs ti possibly, which will be a shame as with ampere, it was a break in that where the high end class i.e. just xx80 provided similar performance to what was basically the titan i.e. the 3090 for a much better price, obviously made no sense from nvidias pov but was great for us.

The old days of titan vs ti says hello :p

I won't be surprised if we see a 80ti matching the 4090, similar to 3080 to 3090 perf. i.e. most of the time within 5-15% but with lesser vram so the 4090 will still remain top dog overall but it just won't have the same bang per buck if all you do is game and don't need the extra vram.

If there are more games out by then and/or geforce now doesn't get the games, I could be tempted but it would need to be no more than £1200 and I can't see that happening, anymore and well might as well just stump up for the 4090.

And I won't be surprised if you grab a 4080 Ti for £1299 or something :D

supposedly a 4090ti too but all hearsay until nvidia confirms anything. I'd be more interested in that than the 4080ti, full fat chip unleashed!

The pretty accurate leaker koptmite or something, Said a few months back the 4090Ti was cancelled, Several other places also said the same thing, Nvidia sell the full fat chip for £8000, They'd be shooting themselves in the foot selling it for even half that with a 4090Ti logo on it.

I could be tempted but it would need to be no more than £1200 and I can't see that happening, anymore and well might as well just stump up for the 4090.

All depends on the games ;)

If avatar is good, it could be the catalyst to getting one but still as it is, nothing can touch the 4080 for £18...... ;) :p :D

I forgot about the £18 service Nvidia provide. I can't see you dropping that cash when that is available as the stop gap.

Yup going to take a lot to pull me away from this now tbh. I just want to game with good visuals and performance for as little outlay as possible, don't care how it is done :)

You using full fibre connection.? I was going to give 4080 GFNow a try before I got my 4090 but since I’m on Virgin Media cable connection I don’t think it would work well enough due to high and fluctuating pings.

1GB virgin media here, using ethernet:

My ping is usually around 25-30ms to nvidia servers in london.

The thicker blue area is when I have been using geforce now (or probably downloading on my pc)

Interesting, I’m on 1Gb myself.

Obviously now you got a 4090, not much point :p But only £18 to try yourself (the free tier is pointless and not anywhere in the same league on basically every front), it isn't going to beat a similar/better local system for latency and IQ "overall" but it's very good and pretty close on the whole based on comparing it to my setup in sig (although in terms of IQ and performance front, it's better here due to the 4080 vs 3080 difference), essentially a good option/temporary measure for those who don't want to spend ££££.

Mine is 2ms to BBC servers so probably would not be much more to Nvidia.

Best I have right now is 24Mbps down and 1.2Mbps up, Or 2.4MB/s down 0.1MB/s up, Apparently my area is getting fiber the middle of next month but I'm not holding my breath.

PCSR - PC Master Streaming Race!

Exactly my thoughts, they went from chequerboard rendering is bad on consoles to the best thing since sliced bread on PC and don't get me started on the fake frames too. Now PCMR Nvidia fans are crying streaming is the best thing ever... You can't make this stuff up really.

Sorry I want hardware I control not the monopolies that are selling you software and streaming, I don't even stream movies I buy 4K disks for a reason they will always be better than streaming and mine to own forever not when they decide to take my purchases away when they feel like it.

Better than paying for a 4080/90 for a handful of games. And certainly better than being stuck with s potato gpu. Well, so thru say anyway. Not tried it myself.

It's only good for people that don't own a pc or want a pc or have the room for one or don't use a pc enough to justify the hardware costs. Otherwise to the true PCMR they shouldn't ever be looking at streaming.
