NVIDIA 4000 Series

Apparently the 4070, 4070 Ti and 4080 are getting SUPER variants.

So basically more expensive variants of crap cards they already can't sell...

My last three cards:

Gigabyte GTX 1080 (did have a little whine yes)

RTX 3080 FE (no whine)

RTX 4080 FE (no whine)

Mines the opposite

2070 super AIB MSI (no whine)
2080 AIB Gigabyte (no whine)
3070 FE (no whine)
3090 AIB Palit (no whine) - Weirdly when i put this same gpu onto my newer psu (Asus Loki SFX-L 850w it whine abit)
4090FE (a little whine but completely gone when undervolted)

Is it bad I don't know how many 4090 series cards I've had to make my own list lol. Id say of roughly 9 4090s 6 had fairly noticeable coil whine, none had 0, although 3 were very minute. I had one 4080 that was completely silent, but there are definitely 4080's out there that have bad coil whine.

Yes its actually terrifying lol

My ageing GPU bit the dust so ended up buying a 4070 FE.

Whilst it is a thing of beauty IMO, the packaging it comes in is unbelievable. Two of the fanciest boxes I've ever come across. Ditch those and you'd take £50 off the price straight away :D

It's an experience in itself unboxing a FE but with how rough couriers seem to be lately I'm glad they've 'over engineered' the packaging.

The H800, A800 and RTX4090 are now all banned from export and sale to China

Interestingly the export controls now apply to consumer GPUs and the 4090 is the first to make the ban list

Nvidia shares fell 5% on the news

Just cancelled my pre-order of a 4070ti, now hoping the super version has 16gb vram, what's the chances?

High I would say, as Nvidia like to sell people the gimped card first and then sell you the actual card later.

Although in this case it's been double gimped for your convenience as it's a actually a 60 class card to begin with.

That one is going in the other system, plus is a great card to keep as a backup. But still the prices are ridiculous still as others have said already lol :D

Waiting on black friday deals or xmas!

Judging from the comments Gibbo makes from time to time, I get the feeling Retailers don't have much margin to play with, plus the poor exchange rate. I hope I'm wrong and we get some amazing deals... but I can't see it :(
