We just died of not surprise at rumoured pricing for Nvidia's upcoming Super GPUs
The biggest question is what it will do to the pricing of existing RTX 40-series cards.www.pcgamer.com

AMD doesn’t care, the best reviewed card they’ve had this year could only match their old card which had been selling cheaper for months anyway.

Well as of right now you have about 14 months to wait, Are you going to actually buy next gen or wait until Nvidia offer an upgraded GeForce Now sub ?

Depends entirely on prices, I can see nvidia doing an ampere again given how poorly the 40xx have sold for gamers.
As it is, only game which is killing me at the minute is ark survival ascended but then it also runs like **** on a 4090, frame gen would be very nice here but obviously playing on pvp, you don't want any additional lag no matter how little might be added.
Everything else I'm playing still runs great on the 3080 @ 3440x1440, thank god for having a good quality upscaling solution!

Will they have tasted the high prices too long to discount 50 series? I think so. Crippled bus and cut down dies are likely to be part of their lower tiers again and only the 5090 will be worth it.

Sure does bloody help!!! Thankfully AMD forced Nvidia's hand and prompted them to release it so devs could implement it where they wanted, it's pretty much in all games now

I suspect we'll see the 5080 matching a 4090 for £1k which will obviously look great value..... I could be tempted by a 4080 super if the rumoured price is true as 3080 is still selling for £350+so a 4080s for £700 would be rather nice! Hopefully a free game too to bring the price down further.
If I was interested in paying around £700-800 for a 30% upgrade I would have bought a 7900XT months ago.
I had up to £1000 ready for an AD102 card or equivalently performing AMD card but neither manufacturer met expectations so back in Jan I stuck it in BTC and currently I now have over 2k ready for next gen.

Nope, Still Q1-2 2025, Nvidia aren't in a rush, It's why they are releasing the Super refresh of the 4070, 4070 Ti and 4080 in Q1 next year but like I've said before I have an inkling it's going to be even more expensive than the 4xxx series.

I even expect AMD to remain on 4nm for this reason alone...
TIL if you want a 500hz monitor or even higher refresh you have to use Windows 11 and it has to be up to date. Every version of windows before a recent update was released for 11, can not support 500hz displays

Lower latency all round, For me personally anything after around 120Hz is a tiny difference but the e-sport pro's can definitely make use of 500Hz.
