My little brother's eyeing up a 4080 Super when it comes out, If it's not too far away from a 4090 FE price wise I'll just give him the extra.
Inital rumours were that it was dropping too to $999, hopefully that'll happen. My little brother's eyeing up a 4080 Super when it comes out, If it's not too far away from a 4090 FE price wise I'll just give him the extra.
Definitely a home-made project - considering Noctua / Asus's 4080 uses 2 of their full size 120mm fans and that one looks to be using slim 92mm fans.Looks home-made AF, unless it's an early prototype (I'd bet a home project).

Not even a bit. Don't get why one would bother when next gen is a year away now. If you wanted one just get one on release. Same price and you get full use of it while it is current.
Better of waiting and getting a 5090 imo.
To be fair a year is a long time and a lot can happen in that time.

Yea im going to wait, not many games coming out in 2024 have my interest anywayNot even a bit. Don't get why one would bother when next gen is a year away now. If you wanted one just get one on release. Same price and you get full use of it while it is current.

Not in my world. Feels like 3 months or something. Older I get faster it seems to go by
And AMD will probably sell most of them fine:
Meta and Microsoft say they will buy AMD's new AI chip as an alternative to Nvidia's
AMD's newest AI chip, the Instinct MI300X, could give big tech buyers leverage over Nvidia, if it works as advertised and is price-competitive.www.cnbc.com
All of these companies have huge software teams,so they will be doing their own software development too.
You seem to forget AMD also makes CPUs too,and is probably aiming to sell these as entire packages for supercomputers. The fastest supercomputer in the world,ie,Frontier, uses AMD CPUs and MI250 dGPUs. That is reinforced by the fact the MI300A/MI300X APUs are socket compatible with Epyc so existing customers can slot one in. That is what they are probably aiming to do,so they are not fighting Nvidia directly.
AMD caught out
At the mi300x launch, AMD released benchmarks showing it match and beating Nvidia. What was not as clear is that AMD did these benchmarks by disabling all AI Nvidia software support and updates.
These are server GPUs they won't get as much flak for it, but this would be like AMD launch a new gaming GPU and comparing its performance to an older GPU and running the older GPU on 2 year old drivers and pretending it's a good test to show the new product is better.
This is especially paramount with AI features because the performance has been improving rapidly as driver and software updates optimize how the GPUs process models.
Once all drivers and software updates are installed, the mi300 actually loses hands down to Nvidia, complete opposite of what AMD tried to claim is a realistic test

At the MI300 launch, AMD claimed it had significantly better performance than Nvidia. Had they used the right software....www.forbes.com
AMD would never!
Suppose they and their fanbase will try to say but no one wants to pay for nvidia features or uses them
Just goes to further show folks, none of these companies have your best interests at heart.

Exactly,so why is Grim5 saying AMD or any other company will have no chance selling AI products? This is precisely why I do not understand why anyone champions any corporation, They are all run by the sleaziest scum imaginable.
Exactly,so why is Grim5 saying AMD or any other company having no chance selling AI products? He literally is posting Nvidia marketing slides saying they beat AMD marketing slides.
you sound mad
