NVIDIA 4000 Series

Taking into account that there will be no bump up in memory size(apparently) for 4080 super, is it safe to say that if Christmas offers allow prices to come closer to £1k - 4080 sound like a not a bad deal after all? Doubt 4080 super will be lower than £1300 for some time?!

Is anyone using a Thermal Grizzly Wireview on their card?

Looks interesting for the display and also cable management abilities but there's obviously the question of reliability, especially in the wake of other 'adaptors' having issues.

Der8auer usually engineers his stuff very well (he is German after all) so I was hoping this extended to the Wireview but I can't find much on it and nothing regarding the engineering or 'solidity' of it.

£1k for a 4080 is terrible no matter how they price the super.

Do you think **80 card will ever be less £1000 in the future?

Not likely, Nvidia have learned they can keep increasing prices and stock will still shift.

Future xx80 cards will be even more expensive than current ones.

It will also become the norm for xx70 class cards to be over the £1000 mark.

While it looks like it didn't shift as a sku, we can only wait for the data from the retailers to reflect how well it really went down. The jump from ~700 to ~1200 in one gen was always going to be noticed.

We could from time to time blow the cobwebs off the dedicated owner thread to see how its grown. :)

In a world where the PS5 Pro exists at half the price and gives 99% of people more than enough performance for their gaming needs? Unlikely.

Let's get together a year or so from now to compare notes. :)

Some 4070's are already in the 700 quid range, I put nothing passed Nvidia. If Jensen could charge a grand for a xx30 class GPU he would. Always expect the worst and most greedy outcome when it comes to Jensen.

Lot's of 4070s in stock on OCUK for £530-570, with a price chop likely within the next month. I don't deny that Nvidia would like to charge as much as they can get away with, but it's still incredibly unlikely 5070s will be £1000+. Let's be honest, vendors are already struggling to get rid of xx70 series cards for even close to half that amount - no shortage of 4070s anywhere.

As I said, in a future market then awash with PS5 Pro's - and from last weeks rumours, a potentially upgraded XBOX X arriving sooner than expected - I think it will severely limit how far Nvidia can push pricing next gen. Right now, I feel the current PS5 and XBOX X are just "not quite there" in horsepower for "faux-K" gaming. I think the console upgrades will see to that - and make even more people question the wisdom of building a PC (even with all its benefits) where the graphics card alone is twice the price of a console that can already do 60-120fps faux-K at reasonable quality settings.

Like I said, we'll see. :)
