Not sure I believe the 4090 will release on a Wednesday. Nvidia always like Thursday for a launch

lmao, so Nvidia is launching a "12gb vram is not enough" edition of the 4080 and also a real 4080

If true I may buy the 12GB edition just for the lols. I think I will get more fun out of that than the extra 4GB that will come in handy in a few games I may want to play over the life cycle of the card

Well given that I still haven't had any issues with 10gb 3080 (unless I purposely sabotage myself with several 4-8k texture packs in cp 2077 and in fail cry 6, I don't use FSR, force enable rebar @ 4k and run a dodgy built in benchmark ;)) and people are still failing to list "all" these other games with evidence.... I'll probably go with the 12gb too :p

But in all seriousness, if like the 3080 12gb model, it might have slightly more powerful hardware other than just an extra 4gb vram especially if those power consumption figures are true, extra vram wouldn't bump that up by that much would it? Maybe 12gb might be gddr6x and the 16gb is gddr6 or vice versa? Obviously it will all come down to the price difference too, needs to be <£100 difference between them and not like the 3080 £650 10gb vs £1000+ 3080 12gb :o

I'd be more concerned with a 192 bit bus rather than the 12gb VRAM.

Exactly. That would be a bigger concern. We have already seen 10GB not being much of an issue the past couple of years and even I had thought it would have been an bigger issue than it was. Would I prefer 16GB? Sure I would, but not if it costs silly money. If the price difference is like between the 3080 and 3080 Ti then I will be going 12GB :D

I will have the highest post count in the is 12GB enough thread too

As long as it performs I'm not bothered.. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on the 4080 though. My 3080 is a great card but at 4k maxed settings and raytracing it does struggle in some games and I don't like to use DLSS as I prefer full native...

Just make sure you get the 16GB version mate, because I can tell you now, there will be at least two lads here who will take pleasure in saying…

*drumroll*

12GB is not enough!
