NVIDIA 4000 Series

what is the incentive to upgrade from 4090 to 5090, 4090 runs pretty much everything at high fps especially with dlss, i dont see any incentive apart from bragging rights. educate me :D

The very high price of cause,
They won’t admit it but some of the guys on here love spending 2k on a gpu

Wife said no when I suggested a £2k purchase as part of my hobby. Guess I’m stuck with the 7800XT till I have to drop settings and provide a peer reviewed paper on why it doesn’t play games anymore and the solution: 5090!

Not forgetting. We simply don't know what Jensen will choose to do. But what I can say is I would not be surprised if used 4090's go for a 3!figure sum in 2025.

You make it sound like that is a mad thing to say it is not ;)

4090s can be found right now second hand for £1k and less and sold on the mm last one on mm a fe sold for £1050 and before that a top aib sold for £1100 many months ago last year, so anyone dreaming a 4090 second hand will be £1k when next gen is out. CEX is giving £845 cash and £975 voucher for a Zotac Trinity 4090  and top AIBS like the stric oc is £1072 cash and £1237 voucher and none oc is £1040 cash and £1200 voucher and none top aibs are under £1k cash and even voucher.

So not sure where people are dreaming up a 4090 will be £1k second hand when 5090 is out... Some need to go look at the second hand prices and sold prices for the last 6+ months.. And see how many sold for just over £1k and how many sold for less.

I've been judging based on ebay, but to be fair that doesn't factor in the fees either. Most have sold for £1300 or more on there.

Well stupid people will pay stupid prices if they really sold at them prices, also why risk paying almost new price with no warranty ? For just over £200 more you get a new 4090 with 3 year warranty and the known issues of the connector melting is not a card I would buy second hand unless I have a soldering iron and spare connectors ready.. Over £1k on a second hand fire risk no thanks.
