So, that is about the performance of 5800x3D. For a 3070, that seems to be plenty fast.Interesting. I've got a 7700x.

Yup planning on grabbing a 2nd hand 5950X (as I do other stuff when not gaming). At least get an x3d in there. The poor 5600 just doesn't have the legs for a 4090.
MSI is using cut-down RTX 4090 GPUs in at least one of its RTX 4070 Ti Super models, with a higher TGP but no extra performance
No amount of BIOS hacks will turn it back into a full-blown RTX 4090, though.www.pcgamer.com
Interesting.
They renamed it and launched it in Chyyyyyyyyna as the 4090D to get around the USA restrictions, or so it's rumoured.Where is the 4080Ti ?
Should cost you about £350ish to switch over considering the current s/h prices of the XTX Nitro (unless you get a s/h 4080).I'm back to seriously considering swapping my 7900 xtx for a 4080 super. Main reasons being RT performance in 4k and thinking of getting a Quest 3 to get back into sim racing. My understanding from what I've read is that the Nvidia cards are better than the AMD cards for VR. Pretty sure I can get a decent amount for the AMD card so shouldn't cost much for the side grade hopefully. Some of these super cards are the same size as the 7900 so should fit nicely into the 011 mini.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Now that there are several smaller form factor cards it certainly makes it easier. Still tempted to maybe get a vertical mount and get the white gigabyte card though. That or the zotac as it will fit in normal position.Should cost you about £350ish to switch over considering the current s/h prices of the XTX Nitro (unless you get a s/h 4080).
Anyone have any thoughts between:
Zotac super trinity
MSI Gaming X Slim
Gigabyte Aero OC (would have to be vertical)
Seems mixed reviews on all of them - anyone one here vouch for one over another?
TBH I thought people on here would be holding off a couple more months for the new cards rather than picking up an almost EOL 4080S, but each to their own.
the threat of next gen being stupidly expensive is very very real, dont know what labour will do with taxes and spending but that discussion is for another time, my xtx kept crashing so i needed a replacment, and the 80s did the job
Wanting to swap my 7900xtx - if it was a straight purchase I'd probably wait.TBH I thought people on here would be holding off a couple more months for the new cards rather than picking up an almost EOL 4080S, but each to their own.
Can’t see the next gen cards being massively more expensive though, just the usual Nvidia bump in pricing I suspect.
LOL, good one.we need prices to come back to 1080ti/3080 levels
