I don't think anyone with a 3080 or higher actually needs to upgrade but as per usual the "keep up with the jones'" mindset will kick in.

Stick with a 3080.

I'm keeping mine, even though it does struggle in a few games.

I don't like it, they are clearly watering down the 4070 to trickle feed us more cards at the lower end which is bad news for AMD if they can't compete.

You have to be mental to buy a 4080 or 4090 at that price. You are being pounded in the ass with a baseball bat then told to pay for it afterwards

people paid more than that for the 3090 though......................

So in Jensons mind 4GB of GDDR6 is worth $300.

$900 to $1200 for the 4080, this is insane.

4070 no less than $700
4060 no less than $500

I know it doesn’t make the pricing any better but that’s $300 for GDDR6X + 4Gb rather than GDDR6 I believe.

Still not all games use RTX btw, it's only now they implement raytracing and it's optional.

Something tells me a lot of the performance gain for RTX will be through DLSS 3

I was close enough



Hopefully DLSS 3 comes to ampere and it could keep me happy for a while if we see performance improvements. But as mentioned, given the prices, ampere second hand prices should hold up well so if I can sell the 3080 for £550-600, I could be tempted by the 4080 16gb
