NVIDIA 4000 Series

Just seen the prices, bahahahahahahaaaaa!

I've been a day-one buyer of every generation since the 900's and I've got no desire to upgrade from my 3080 to a 4080, especially when the 12gb was obviously going to be the 4070.

I'll see what Radeon brings, or more likely I'll just wait for the 5000's :)

Not interested in the sensible 2nd hand option, would rather pay twice as much as you should for a 40series etc. That's how you're reply came about.

When are ppl going to learn.

Well it was more like I do not fancy buying a used mined on card from eBay of all places. If I ever see something on here at a decent price come summer I may do that.

Almost the same (I skipped the 1080Ti)

Luckily DLSS 2.0 is pretty good anyway, it's very rare I play anything now and think, I need more FPS.

I think gone are the days of me paying silly money for the latest/greatest GPU.

So, the 80 series card has just doubled in price in 2 years when we've got recession, high energy pricing, extortionate living costs etc.

Good luck selling that 4080 for over a grand in hard times lmao... Will probably be £1300+ by the time Gibbo puts extra on top for his car funds.

Absolutely ridiculous from Nvidia

Yeah, Gibbo probably a bit sad now. He won't have even half the demand he had with Ampere

Infact the opposite, don’t need to sell as many and won’t sell as many so fingers crossed people won’t be queuing for a year plus.

Plus hardly any of the high end 3000 series left in stock we can have a perfect transition as all our 3090Ti are sold and 3090 and 3080ti not far behind.

Our 3080 12G is a true bargain at £699 the last we will see if it’s kind.

I did warn people last week prices were unlikely to go much lower if at all.

Could be some crazy 3090ti deals though if any AIBs are still sitting on large stocks but I think with the crazy power consumption of those cards they will need to be way under 1k and even then many may not go for them simply due to power consumption.

Interesting times ahead but am sure first waves of 4000 series will sell out especially as even at £1700ish the 4090 is insane performance and if gamers ain’t buying professionals will be.

It's like Jensen is giving AMD a chance to take some big market share, will they take it or fumble it.....
Apparently we'll only have five weeks to find out...
AMD announced that it plans to launch its next-generation Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards, based on the RDNA3 architecture, on November 3, 2022. We don't know if this is just a soft-launch date with availability slated for later in the month, or if it's a hard-launch. In any case, the announcement by AMD is curiously timed, as NVIDIA is widely expected to launch its GeForce RTX 40-series "Ada" graphics cards later today.
Unless you've got a need for what 40x series is offering i can't see a reason to buy a 4090 or 4080 right now.
