NVIDIA 4000 Series

who the hell is going to buy a 4080 12gb, its basically saying you cant afford extra couple of hundred quid more for the 16gb
Who the hell is going to buy a 4080 16gb either, you may aswell just get a 4090 if spending that sort of money.

The 80 non ti has always been for people who don't want to spend silly money but want decent performance, at 1200 quid though what market segment is it aimed at?.

4090 seems relatively better value than both 4080. You are paying a third more for probably half more performance instead of a large premium. Honestly expected the 4080 16gb to be $1000 and the 4090 closer to $2000.

If I were releasing games to the PC market, I'd be aiming for the lowest of the lowest specs. I'm still looking to replace my 1070Ti and it doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon if ever.
My old chap father runs a 1070 with a 1600AF at 1080P, runs all his games butter smooth at 1080P.
Bro with his hand-me-down from me 2060 and 3600X system runs everything maxed out at 1080P.

Most people who wanted a 3080 got one in the end, no one is diving on the 4000 series at this price point. Feels very much like the 2000 launch.

I expect Jensen to come out with "It's now time to upgrade from Ampere" in two years time.
By launching the 5000 series at a 5% bump in performance Vs 4000 with a 5% drop in price
