I do have such a monitor as I do photo editingIf contemplating spending this sort of money on a GPU you'd be doing yourself dirty by not first sorting out your monitor to a full array local dimming hdr1000 monitor or an oled to give you that incredible step up from edge lit led. Those only come in 1440 ultra wide or 4k.
Why not grab a retail 3080?I'm going to be on my 1080 forever at this rate!
3080 at msrp 2 years after release? Really? Why not grab a retail 3080?
Yes really. 3080 is cheap and a good card still.3080 at msrp 2 years after release? Really?
Yeah would just be helping Jenson offload his eol product that he has due to chasing the mining market over gamers3080 at msrp 2 years after release? Really?
Not surprised. With a 192 bit memory bus the memory bandwidth on the 4080 12gb will in all likelihood be lower than any 3080 to 3090ti GPU. That will be causing it to lose on those games most likely.
Wait for the RTX 4070/4060, see how they compare. Or RDNA 33080 at msrp 2 years after release? Really?
If that’s how you feel why don’t you help out intel… arc for you good sirYeah would just be helping Jenson offload his eol product that he has due to chasing the mining market over gamers
Honestly Xbox and a few extra controllers is the way to go for me, already pay for gamepass and will still have the PC to run any exclusive titles albeit not optimally, sadIf that’s how you feel why don’t you help out intel… arc for you good sir

Vs 1. 5k for a re badged 3080 named as a 4090?That you think a £700+ card counts as "cheap" is a fine example of shifting baselines.

The cheapest 3080 on OC/U.K. is £700, the most expensive, £950.Yes really. 3080 is cheap and a good card still.
You honestly think even the 5080 will be any better? Lol
Some? Most.The cheapest 3080 on OC/U.K. is £700, the most expensive, £950.
If that’s “cheap” for what’s now an E.O.L. card, I’d hate to see what you deem expensive….
Ultimately though Nvidia’s crazy recent pricing is starting to pay off for them, what was previously an absurd price for a card is now deemed cheap by some, only some though.
You are calling the 3080 at MSRP 2 years later, cheap?Yes really. 3080 is cheap and a good card still.
