NVIDIA 4000 Series

You didn't miss much mate the typical Nvidia shenanigans and trying it on with customers and their stupid claims. Hope you're keeping well and looking forward to your comments when you see what they have done. :D

Cat will literally fall off his chair at them prices. If you thought Ampere was bad...

Link please. That would indeed be very interesting getting some new tech like that.

What I worry about is drivers though, as more than likely they will need to write new drivers for an mcm designed GPU’s which may cause issues.

Trying to get a handle on expected raster performance vs the 3090. I think the 4070 4080/12 is about the same or slightly less, the 4080/16 is ~35% faster and the 4090 will be up to twice as fast. Does that sound about right?

He'll sell everything he's allocated, plenty of lemmings out there who will pay whatever to have the latest and greatest from the green.

"lemmings" sorry the word one has to be st*pid more than a lemming :)

For what may be useless will do a report to the advertising standard as they are calling both "4080" with only the Vram number different, last time I succeeded with something similar, we all know the difference the average Joe with no clue will be nothing less than scammed by Nvidia as in fact the other is a 4070 and so should be called.

@IT Troll sounds about right IMHO, I am more after raster and VR improvement, I could not care less about puddles especially if an upscale is needed, whether Nvidia or AMD that is.

I know EVGA did the kingpin AIO cards, what other manufacturers do AIO GPU cards? Do they normally come out at release or a few months down the line?

No one knows, they didn't show any like for like benchmarks yesterday, the only thing we did see was a 2 to 4x performance increase.

overall i still believe the 4090 at 76 billion transistors is going to be a good product, it might be power starved for all we know and some AIB models could address that issue. given how 76 billion was a big surprise, i dont believe AMD would have even planned for it - its just ridiculous the kind of transistor density nvidia has achieved, i seriously doubt if anyone could have even guess anything around those lines, the broader consensus would have been 55 billion tops, this is a pretty big surprise and i dont believe amd has something even remotely touching that

secondly, nvidia is taking a different approach here, they seem to be relying more on next gen features instead of dedicating more resources to traditional rendering methods.. i feel that nvidia internally believes that rasterization is on the path of diminishing returns and is performing comfortably above reasonable expectations.. for growth to be meaningful

it is rumored to be a mcm design but not in the traditional sense, what they have basically done is separted out the infinity cache on N6 chiplets while the nerve center the actual core will be a different chip, so its still a single die for all practical purposes other than the potential for cost savings

i think that amd officially confirmed that its going to be a MCM design during the zen 4 reveal, the rest of it is speculation but every leaker out there is repeating those lines in unison, igor's lab has a sketch that you could refer

So at 4k , a 6900XT is beating the 4080 in the first 3 game mentioned ? Reviews peg the 6950 above the 3090ti in those titles... hmmmm

This is my gripe with the comparison, they showed Cyperpunk which tbh has the wow factor for 5 mins. but the real life benchmarks show that the 4080 sometimes falls behind the 3090. Portal is how old with a rehash of RT so of course frames are going to be sky high. MSFS has had always been hardware intensive either on the threads or GPU. The new update 10 today we will finally see DLSS after 2 years.
