That will all depend on what AMD brings to the table in less than two months time I guess. Plus you have a brand new 3080 12gb which is essentially almost the same performance with spider man game for £50 more.
To be fair he's still gonna get high Res assets in the buffer if he keeps the 90.
I'm sticking on the 80, that'll do me as AMD will probably price accordingly just below NV, what you getting?

I did not win EM tonight, no 4090s for anybody. SAD.
Don’t know. Not enough info apparently, what am I supposed to base my decision on?
On a serious note, will wait to see what AMD have to offer. If it is good then I will go AMD, if not will wait and see for a deal that comes around summer time which some games I am interested come out.
The 3080 12GB brand new with Spider-Man for £699 looks somewhat appealing as I can sell my 3070 and the game, plus cashback I would get would mean £250 or less for the upgrade. Which ain’t bad as would be getting 40% or more performance plus 50% extra vram and brand new 3 year warranty. But then if AMD surprise us with a good deal I would rather go AMD.
Nope, it's looking Pascal to Turing all over again. What? Are you not getting the upgrade which is 10%?![]()
Or wait to see what AMD have. It will be the first GPU made of multiple chiplets and I'm expecting very good things.
@HACO good call keeping your card that you had on the MM, not worth it mate.![]()
I jumped there and pulled it like 20 minutes into the event![]()
Just had an interesting thought. Following the EVGA thing with them complaining about how little margin there is, if AMDs production costs are a lot less because of the chiplets and if they do just match or slightly undercut nvidia on price. It would give them a chance to offer their partners a substantially better margin. That could cause some interesting ripples if it happens. If suddenly Asus, MSI and Gigabyte are all making way more money with AMD that might change the shape of things.I don't think AMD will be any cheaper, both companies have over ordered chips and have loads of stock of previous generation cards, once previous generation have sold out we will see big price drops.

Breathtakingly cynical marketing, even from Nvidia. Why not scrap xx60 & 70 range completely. Name the entire range 4080. Even the plebs can buy a 4080 6gb (£499). Thanks Nvidia.
Dear god don't give them them ideas they already have family of cards.. The 3080 family was the start of that joke then the 3090 family now the 4080 family.![]()
