GN OC the card by 33% and it took 666W

Ray tracing and dlss 3 goodness

Over to amd now.

3080s are holding their price very well so I may get 4080 16GB if amd can't match RT or DLSS 3.

The problem I have with all these 4090 AIB cards is that they may do a good job of cooling the card but they dump all the heat into the case. And that is going to be a huge amount of heat with these OC cards meaning you end up with much higher temps for everything else (CPU in particular). I'm guessing the FE should be best in this respect as it will expel more heat directly out the back.

Loads of good quality case fans needed....watch the price of fans now rocket up too

SO most games are now CPU bottlenecked with the 4090....
Below 4K yep. this is the card to get if you are planning on or currently are playing in 4K.

If/when they release a 38" ultra-wide with a 21:9 equivelant res to 4K then this will be the direction I go absolutely no doubt about that. At 3440x1440 there's no logical sense in changing from a 3080 Ti really.

Looks like I won't be getting something 50% faster than my 3080FE for £650 this generation if a 4090 is 100% faster, but nearly 300% more expensive.

None of the 4080's fit those criteria either as they are all way above £650.

Will now wait to see what AMD release, then if it's the same will forget about this gen and wait until next set of releases in a year or 2.
