NVIDIA 4000 Series

You know there’s more retailers out there? You don’t have to be loyal to ocuk, they’ll be cheaper in other places.
i know

judging by Gibbos "few hundred in stock" comment I can sense its gonna be a shizz show for all those F5 smashers

If one of the biggest retailers for GPU can only secure a few hundred cards then whats it gonna be like elswhere?

Damn I can sense the scalping already, +30 to 50%, and desperate people will honor the scalped prices.

I waited 1+ year for my steam deck
I waited 8 months for my PS5
I waited 6 months for my 30 series card

Im gonna add 4090 to my list.

Impressive, that can't be argued. Really quite wow'd by it.

This makes me incredibly curious on performance of the next variants, will they be seriously gimped or continue with the trend? Looking at the 12GB and 16GB variants price differences, will higher resolutions be vastly different in performance.

Whatever the case, a guaranteed non purchase from me, it's not my thing.

I did look in to upgrading my PCU and motherboard and memory and your looking at around £1000 just not worth for the gains in gaming ! & after looking at some benchmarks when you start to game at 4K the CPU doesn't effect the FPS much , something like 8700k vs 12900K in 4k gaming is giving you maybe 2-3 FPS more max depending on the game.
yes i agree. i want a 4090 to increase fps in vr gaming which involves high resolutions like 4k gaming does. i'm going to ring the neck of my current setup before i shell out over £1k to gain about 10% fps. cpu makes little difference at 4k gaming as benchmarks like this 1 show.

i've had many debates over this. benchmarks and my own fps counter don't lie.

not bad for 3090 ti. But if you turn on dlls 3 on 4090 it will really outperform heh

I would love a 4090. I would have to build a whole new system though, and a 4k display.
That's basically only way to see the benefits of a 4090 is to go on the latest platform and get a 4k display with a high refresh rate. So a huge outlay for 45-50% increases on average and even that may increase the 4k uplift to 60%+ in real world games and not the ones nvidia has sprinkled pixie dust on to make the gains look larger than they really are compared to other games...

So unless you want a 7000 series cpu and a whole new system rebuild they are basically the same uplift as 20 series to be 30 series in most games without nvidias optimised titles used in the reviews.

They are close to £2k. Its not a £800 or lower price. I can't see the masses buying this card, most people aren't prepared to throw that much money at one component of their PC.

@Gerard Actually I take it back, it might have been one of MLID’s videos after all. Watched so many vids this week and it doesn’t appear to be the one I linked a little earlier.

That video is interesting though and shows the much larger vapour chamber for the 4090FE, and the fact they’ve switched to fluid dynamic bearings for the fans as opposed to the two bearing fans used on previous cards.
