Funny thing is I'll be ordering my 4090 then going back to Baldurs Gate 2 while I wait. Against all common sense I sold my 3080 first, but did get a good price for it. It was never the plan, but nvidia made the 4080 seem so ****

Lucky for me a buddy bought my 3080....unlucky that I did mates rates tho lol

So I still have my card until the 4090 arrives :)

I just started the video at the part where they bring up the cost-cutting measures. Display Port is the second thing in that section.

I have no use for such a powerful card beyond VR and gimping it with DP 1.4 could limit my future VR headset options.

I need to do some more research, but this could be a deal-breaker for my use-case.
Yes deal breaker for me. A $1000 3090 can do 4k 144hz so why bother with the 4090 when you can never see the difference.

So 4090 performance is a large uplift over last gen, but sadly this doesn't bode well for 4080 at all.

Unlike the 3080 compared to the 3090, where we saw little increase in performance for nearly double the price. The 4090 will actually provide massive leap of performance over the 4080-16. Based on specs alone, the 4080-16 is likely to offer little increase in performance over the 3090ti, and for more money. Unless Nvidia rethink pricing before launch, their basically saying you might as well spend the full whack to get the real performance of ADA. Nvidia clearly want to shift 30 series before becoming competitive again.

If AMD play it smart, and have something decent to offer. They can definitely take a huge market share from Nvidia.

No fomo from me. I will sit back and see what AMD has, and if that sucks I will wait for the inevitable price drops when the whales have had their fill. These prices are not sustainable in this financial climate.

Of course they are. Anyone who can afford to blow a grand or more on a GPU isn't likely to be affected very much by the current financial squeeze. It's like saying sales of Ferraris will be affected.
