On the other hand, if you don't invest it smartly, inflation will eat big chunk of any savings before they're really needed, hence lots of articles in the media are all "Spend now, don't save, you will just lose it!" - and this is just one of the symptoms I reckon. Personally, I am comfy spending that £1.7k but I still think it's way overpriced for simple gaming.

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't even buy it, as it was gone in seconds - only FE interested me, as is. So, money saved, I reckon.
