I get that but the 3090 Ti scores 6% higher, usually with CPU limits cards stack a bit closer. Could it be something specific to that engine?NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition Review - Impressive Performance
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition offers huge gains over its predecessors. It's the first graphics card to get you 4K 60 FPS with ray tracing enabled, and upscaling disabled. Do you prefer 120 FPS instead of 60? Just turn on DLSS 3.www.techpowerup.com
Test System - VGA 2022.2 Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, PBO Max Enabled
(Zen 3, 32 MB Cache)
Does it at least come in a massive 2.2kg frame? On ebay there's a 4090 Asus with long title and then says picture only - for 2 grand.
Idiots.
Seems like a normal launch day to me?But but ITS THE MINERS!!!
But but ITS THE MINERS!!!
one to name is Microsoft flight simulator 2020, that struggles on 4k fully maxed, i hate that coz its my fave gameThe 3090Ti still handles 4k absolutely fine.
How do I know? Because I use a 3090Ti on a 32” 4K 144Hz monitor and the gameplay is great. Absolutely no need to change.
What do you play that the 3090Ti can’t handle?
I misunderstood; I thought you ordered a 4090 hence me asking. You may have seen my post in the Dell thread, now I am 'worrying' if the monitor is enough or if I should use a 4K120, like you I'd prefer 34-38 size. Let's face it, this card for 2K UWD isn't really doing it justice, although I guess if it doesn't break a sweat then it will be quiet which is a bonus.
Very efficent card, the sweet spot seems to be around 300 watts and with such massive heatsinks should be almost silent.
Do most people plan on undervolting?
how many is "so many"? 1000, 2000 5000?
regardless i reckon at this rate, with current stock levels and replenishment speed, it will take at least 3 months before everyone gets their slice of cake, in the meantime if your hungry then you will end up paying a scalper his fees.
Its a disgrace
Hence why I spent 2 hours prepping just to buy a piece of tech on release, what about the remainder who want one but cant get one barbecue above....
there are idiots on eBay trying to sell 3080 FE's for £1000, while plenty brand new 3080' from eBay authorised sellers for under £700 with warranty. On ebay there's a 4090 Asus with long title and then says picture only - for 2 grand.
Idiots.
It's like they decided to come with the high end overclock out of the box 40% more power for 10% more performance (which in this case will work for undervolters in reverse)I plan on running mine as per Der8bauer's recommendation of 60% power target.

People will have to pump an insane ammout of power to get a 10% boost over stock speeds.
I do wonder why they went with 450 watts as it looks like it will have eaten in to some of the AIBs profits with them needing a massive cooler and more power regulators on the board.
The demand will drop like a rock for these soon, it's just the FOMO crowd at the moment or people that were still on 900 class and 10 series or even 20 series jumping on these for now and the usual serial updaters from last gen to next gen. That will come to an end soon and with all the people updating from 30 series the second hand market will help the ones not willing to pay the msrp for the 30 series. Prices will remain high for a few months on gpus but the 40 series will end up settling at the real msrp or retailers won't be able to shift them with their added bonus gouging.Maybe even 5 or 6, the demand is certainly there.
