NVIDIA 4000 Series

Test System - VGA 2022.2
Processor:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, PBO Max Enabled
(Zen 3, 32 MB Cache)
I get that but the 3090 Ti scores 6% higher, usually with CPU limits cards stack a bit closer. Could it be something specific to that engine?

Very efficent card, the sweet spot seems to be around 300 watts and with such massive heatsinks should be almost silent.
Do most people plan on undervolting?

But but ITS THE MINERS!!!

Are you denying last few times around miners had a BIG hand in ******* things up royally for the rest of us? It's obviously not miners this time around, nvidia are probably looking at 3 series stock and are trying to figure out how to get shot of those before really letting the 4 series into the wild.

Did anyone actually manage to get an FE in the UK today ? i wasted a good 30 mins constantly refreshing Nvidia site and only time i saw the button was about 1:57 said BUY NOW but noting happend when clicked and was then gone after a refresh but was prior to 2pm .

The 3090Ti still handles 4k absolutely fine.

How do I know? Because I use a 3090Ti on a 32” 4K 144Hz monitor and the gameplay is great. Absolutely no need to change.

What do you play that the 3090Ti can’t handle?
one to name is Microsoft flight simulator 2020, that struggles on 4k fully maxed, i hate that coz its my fave game
and I like it fully maxed, thats why we have top tier cards
wargame warno struggles at 4k, need to lower settings when in a 10vs10 battles
cyberpunk runs *****, should be at least 100+ fully maxed
forza horizon 5, when u drive at 300mph on the jesko, popups appear because it struggles to keep up, rectified by lowering eye candy

lets see what the 4090 does to the above games at 4k

I misunderstood; I thought you ordered a 4090 hence me asking. You may have seen my post in the Dell thread, now I am 'worrying' if the monitor is enough or if I should use a 4K120, like you I'd prefer 34-38 size. Let's face it, this card for 2K UWD isn't really doing it justice, although I guess if it doesn't break a sweat then it will be quiet which is a bonus.

I returned my c2 42 for the aw3423dw - I much prefer it. Like you I much prefer the 34-38 size.

how many is "so many"? 1000, 2000 5000?

regardless i reckon at this rate, with current stock levels and replenishment speed, it will take at least 3 months before everyone gets their slice of cake, in the meantime if your hungry then you will end up paying a scalper his fees.

Its a disgrace

Hence why I spent 2 hours prepping just to buy a piece of tech on release, what about the remainder who want one but cant get one barbecue above....

You state you have a 3090ti, you have no good reason to buy a 4090, lets get real. Also people had more than enough time on many retailers sites to get one today, they were in stock till 6pm at most places if you knew where to look. Also OCUK sites crashed and was over priced compared to other retailers with a standard £100 bump to prices and more in some cases.

If you really wanted one you would have got one, just the FE cards vanished in under 30 secs. Also many of the AIB cards were the same price as the FE card too even the ASUS TUFs were £1699. So all people saying they planned for hours to get one are talking rubbish. I was on like 5 main retailers sites and they were easy to get for a good few hours after even the TUF for £1699.

On ebay there's a 4090 Asus with long title and then says picture only - for 2 grand.

Idiots.
there are idiots on eBay trying to sell 3080 FE's for £1000, while plenty brand new 3080' from eBay authorised sellers for under £700 with warranty.
they will soon have to sell those at a loss + risking getting lost in post + dealing with dishonest buyers etc etc I guarantee It's going to be fun.

I plan on running mine as per Der8bauer's recommendation of 60% power target.
It's like they decided to come with the high end overclock out of the box 40% more power for 10% more performance (which in this case will work for undervolters in reverse)

People will have to pump an insane ammout of power to get a 10% boost over stock speeds.
I do wonder why they went with 450 watts as it looks like it will have eaten in to some of the AIBs profits with them needing a massive cooler and more power regulators on the board.

Der8auer said the same thing. A 450W power target makes no sense.

Maybe even 5 or 6, the demand is certainly there.
The demand will drop like a rock for these soon, it's just the FOMO crowd at the moment or people that were still on 900 class and 10 series or even 20 series jumping on these for now and the usual serial updaters from last gen to next gen. That will come to an end soon and with all the people updating from 30 series the second hand market will help the ones not willing to pay the msrp for the 30 series. Prices will remain high for a few months on gpus but the 40 series will end up settling at the real msrp or retailers won't be able to shift them with their added bonus gouging.

Also AMD soon out with their cards too, I bet you one thing they will remain in stock if priced like the 4090s.
