NVIDIA 4000 Series

Scorn was released today, been playing a bit on the 3090 but damn the 4090's number is crazy high

I was getting 110fps at 4k thinking thats good but 4090 is well over 200fps

I do wonder how many 4090 FE are in stock, they do seem to be sending a fair amount of invites to buy.
Looking at how many invites I've seen, several hundred I reckon. More than they had a launch. I think it's a good idea as potentially stops scalpers getting them. Saw a scalpers bot website.and one guy bought 37 4090FE

Nice. I currently own a 6800XT but would like the chance to buy a 4090FE I've installed GeForce experience free version. Can I or how rather can I get a chance to buy an FE.
I don't think you will get one. GFE checks and you need at least a 10 series card installed to redeem the invite

Well 37 will be sent back soon or sold at a loss as there is zero need to buy from scalpers as there is clearly huge stocks of 4090 fes that's why the invites are being sent out, the retailer has not sold out just sold the amount nvidia asked them to sell on release clearly and soon even more stock heading their way.

Thanks for the link Sparx. Card ordered and shipped :D

How did you make that work? Someone sent me a code, I got all the way to Paypal checkout and then it popped up "you need an invite for this purchase". Its fine, that member has now bought it and I'll collect it from him but just curious how you made it work?

Yeah there is an MSI 2 slot and Gigabyte 2 slot

The MSI card is called Suprim X and Gigabyte is called Xtreme
I have the surprim and it takes up a 4th slot (though only 3 slots at back of case). It is fatter than the 3090 FE that it replaced. And much longer. And slightly wider.

I redeemed it on GFE, got the one-use link and gave him it. He had to get in with my email, but then he was able to order with his own delivery address and payment card.

It has done the order through my account with that retailer and my email. But still going to his address and he paid for it. :)

It will be interesting to see if Nvidia alter the specs of the 4080 4070 when it launches, just so as to appear not so bloody obvious about what they did!

And you wonder why EVGA got out of working with Nvidia............

I know the answer to that, my i7 7700K paired an msi 4090 is best :D
Seriously, it's what i've done. At lower resolutions i'm cpu bound, but at higher resolutions i'm gpu bound.
Someone tested msfs for me at the same settings i use, we get similar fps, he has a 5900x.

Your massively CPU bound with a 7700k. Your minimum FPS values will dip very low as well.

You'll not get anywhere near as smooth an experience as you would with a 13th gen i7/i9 or Ryzen 7000 series CPU.

Yeah I thought it was probably tied to email address. If I get a code I'll know for offering it on here to a member who is looking for one.

Watching the scalpers is more entertaing and less frustrating than last launch. They seem to be trying hard, yet mostly failing. Their overpriced cards are surrounded by decently-priced, high-performance 3000 series cards with the occasional MSRP 4090 showing up now and then. (I could have bought an MSRP gaming trio 4090 twice yesterday.)

I saw one card get cut from $2600 down to $1999 and still take hours to move.

Also means this will potentially exclude you from buying any further 4000 series card from the Nvidia FE store in the UK, as it seems to be one card per customer per generation still.

Imagine Nvidia will release a 'cheap' 4080ti in a year or so with very close to 4090 performance, which will be hailed as the second coming of Christ
