NVIDIA 4000 Series

According to the Nvidia website it looks like the 4080 is exactly the same length, width and height as the 4090. That can’t be right can it? I was hoping it would be smaller.
I'm supprised at this considering the 4080 will only offer around 60% the performance of a 4090 despite costing 75% of the price. I guess if it looks the same as a 4090 people may assume they'll be getting similar performance.

I left it for now to think about it over the weekend as it more of something I just want and not really need
As my 2080ti still runs 95% of my games pretty good at 3440x1440 (Really it only the 2020 MS Flight sim that really struggles for FPS)
But it would be nice to have for running my games at 4k 120hz on my 65” OLED ;)
I tried my pc on my LG 65 OLED, looked OK but to me it simply wasn't as sharp as my monitor. Not sure is this is expected or not?

People getting the geforce experience links; have you ordered through nvidia before? Desperate for one and trying to work out how they are being given out or whether it is pure luck. Have updated my location and really hoping for one over the weekend!
I ordered at least 1 gpu from each generation since they began selling directly... no link for me. Must be random, I'd expect my spending profile with them is in their higher tier.

Rather annoying - you'd think in doing this, they'd look to support/reward their loyal customers.

Ah well... I have enough of the AIB cards for now anyway. Third came yesterday.

I can't find any in stock, clearly doing something wrong.

Good house keeping.
And no I don't have a credit card
As long as the credit card is 0% it’s better than cash or debit card. The extra cover you get on items that you wouldn’t using another method of payment is extra back up if the worst should happen.

I'm in Europe at the moment... 2 of them came from OcUK's German partner/owner... 1 from elsewhere... stock didn't sell out as quickly here, there was availability into the evening at least & 1 place still has all 3 Zotacs in stock.

Cheaper here too.

EDIT: Just checked - most gone now, only the entry level Zotac Trinity in stock now.

Yep, that's how I use mine, use it online, get the extra protection and pay it off every month, so zero interest charges.

A no-brainer, really.

Yep it must be a bit more random because I’ve never bought an FE before.

I think at this rate they might as well just sell the founders edition and sack off the AIB cards. If I spend £500 plus extra on something, I expect something better.
It's business risk profiling for Nvidia... they'll secure partial payment or an official bank letter of credit from the AIBs... if helps them offset the production and development costs and not out of pocket & for accounting overviews / stakeholder reports - that kind of thing is expected and very helpful... without it, their share price will tank.

Look at it like a guaranteed pre-sale allocation.

Look at Nvidia's share price action when EVGA dropped them.

They did say this is a test run of it. They might open to many more people in the future or start tweaking it.

I understand the business side. From a consumer point of view, would you pay more for the same?

If it is the same that’s some money saving from Nvidia if they’ve only got one cooler to produce.

Shame they couldn’t pass that saving onto us.

At least you know the 4080 will be a cool runner.
