NVIDIA 4000 Series

Ah that sucks. That's a dilemma, as the fans will never get to 80% during use, but at the same time you don't know if the fans will deteriorate over time.

I'd contact OCUK and see if they kept any GPU's unsold as spares for this purpose.
Good call. Haven't had the chance to test anymore yet, but will try properly again tomorrow. As you say, the card doesn't come close to hitting that fan speed on its own though.

Typical of OCUK on GPU sale front. Over promise then under delivery.

Claimed 800+ units in the that initial post - how many were actually in stock?

Selling non-existent stock should be illegal…

They actually shipped out 700 on launch day right?
I think they did well, considering how many bots were on the other place.

A step up from the 3xxx launch (which isnt saying much) but it still seems like stock was pretty thin on the ground for the most part. And now sometime in November for a resupply? Ouch.

About a 1000 in stock they had I think. Some sold out very quick

No section 75 protection on a debit card as there is no credit agreement. You can make a claim by charge back on a debit card but that is not the same as section 75.

Section 75 is; if there’s an issue with the product you’ve bought or the company you’ve bought from goes into administration, the credit card company has equal responsibility to make sure you’re not left out of pocket.
Also be aware that if you pay via PayPal, your bank or credit card issuer may not help you with any issues as they see PayPal as an intermediary so you would then have to rely on PayPal for help. Good luck with that if you need it!

Anyone with the Inno3d Ichill X3 managed to change any of their RGB settings with the Tune it app?

It says by default it's meant to be white which it isn't mine is stuck in RGB mode and the app doesn't do anything or let me change anything to do with the RGB on this GPU, All I can see is to 2 off buttons in the RGB section on the left of the app both of which do nothing when pressed?

I linked mine to my mb digital pins

Anyone else think the 4000 series is going to be doomed to fail? Bringing out a hugely expensive and power hungry card just when a recession is kicking in and energy prices are so high. I can’t see Nvidia scaling the production very high. I doubt it will sell anything like the 3000 series did.

Yeah I didn't connect the cable to my motherboard because I don't use Armoury crate unfortunately I've got the O11 Dynamic XL case and don't really use the RGB on the case because I've got a Corsair QL fan setup so using the commander pro with the QL fans and the Capellix CPU pump which all work fine but the the Tuneit app does nothing for me in the RGB section it's just stuck on RGB mode.

I seem to remember having a similar problems with the Zotacs and a nightmare with the RGB control on the 3080 Trinity, I don't know what it is with these RGB software for GPUs they just don't seem to play nice ever.

It's a good thing because then we will see RDNA3 performance and it it performs more or less competitively at a much smaller size and power requirement then it's going to be a very appealing option.

Doomed to fail? Performance of the 4090 is amazing and despite the price and the size it is in reality far less power hungry then people thought it would be. The 4080 should bridge the gap between the 3090 Ti and the 4090 while being a more normal size, even if the price will also likely still be close to £1000. So no, at this point I can see nothing indicating that 4000 series is 'doomed to fail' and to think so is imo illogical. Nvidia keep selling by the boatload because the demand for performance is there.

I left it for now to think about it over the weekend as it more of something I just want and not really need
As my 2080ti still runs 95% of my games pretty good at 3440x1440 (Really it only the 2020 MS Flight sim that really struggles for FPS)
But it would be nice to have for running my games at 4k 120hz on my 65” OLED ;)
I've got the 48 c1 and whilst I'm not building until next spring / summer 4090 performance is absolutely tempting.

The 4080 is the exact same size as the 4090 apparently which is is a bit odd. Was really hoping it would be smaller.
