NVIDIA 4000 Series

Got to love the amount of 4090's on a certain auction website, including one donut who has put a copy of his OcUK invoice up.

A lot have been reducing their prices.

One greedy scalper had an FE up for £3800 yesterday but has gradually lowered it by £1000 in 24 hours

A £1000 mark up on something that is already frighteningly expensive is very scummy though.

I could get a 4090 for the price of a NZ 4080 if I lived in USA... I feel so ripped off buying any of these cards in NZ.

Guess import tax makes it the same for you lads in UK too?
Bear in mind the US prices are +tax. So they're more than advertised. If that makes you feel any better

No section 75 protection on a debit card as there is no credit agreement. You can make a claim by charge back on a debit card but that is not the same as section 75.

Section 75 is; if there’s an issue with the product you’ve bought or the company you’ve bought from goes into administration, the credit card company has equal responsibility to make sure you’re not left out of pocket.

Yes charge back.
But I always use pay pal for anything over £100.

I have no need for a credit card.

Also be aware that if you pay via PayPal, your bank or credit card issuer may not help you with any issues as they see PayPal as an intermediary so you would then have to rely on PayPal for help. Good luck with that if you need it!

Off topic I know. But.
I claimed £3,000 on pay pay. And got it back after 30 days.

Credit cards get people in to debt.
And then they cry.

You can but it doesn't change the fact they can be even more difficult than getting off a Credit Card company.

I've had a Credit card for a long while now, I use it for the purchases and for more than a decade have never paid interest on it as I clear it right away.

I really want people to start taking action and stop buying from scalpers.

And my debit card is covered just like a credit card.
Your debit card is not covered in the same way as a credit card. Even if you pay £100 on a credit card for a purchase that costs say £15000, you stil have cover on the full amount.

Anyone else think the 4000 series is going to be doomed to fail? Bringing out a hugely expensive and power hungry card just when a recession is kicking in and energy prices are so high. I can’t see Nvidia scaling the production very high. I doubt it will sell anything like the 3000 series did.
The power efficiency of this card is actually good. It was using 30w while surfing the internet and watching videos and 320w even while gaming playing cyberpunk which is about the same as a 3090.

Scumbags gonna scumbag. Being a parasite is seen as something to be proud of / "entrepreneurial" though.

Matches my observations, in fact I would go so far to say my 4090 is giving many more frames for the same or slightly lower power draw measured at the wall (and I have all 4 cables attached as opposed to 3!)

I find it hard to believe that anyone would buy one from certain bidding sites without a warranty.

Wherever there is demand you will find scum taking advantage. If it’s not drugs it’s puppies or PS5’s or graphics cards.

You know despite the 4090 being the new king on the gpu market, used prices for old 30 series cards doesn't seem to have shifted much, i've seen used 3080's still going for £550 plus which is bonkers tbh.
