NVIDIA 4000 Series

I wouldnt expect the next stage (3) 'order packaged' until tomorrow when folk are back at work.

My order is from the first drop this evening and still says 'payment authorised'.
Yeah same here. As a matter what time were the drops tonight? I thought there was only one but seems like two

There were two Telegram alerts, the second one was instantly out of stock for me but i suspect that was because of the 1 card per customer limit

If they don't have the stock to meet demand then they are releasing them too early. Again, just don't get it
It's all about creating the perception of scarcity to bring out the FOMO, just read through some of the comments from tonight's FE drop and you'll see people buying the cards who didn't even want / need / couldn't afford just because they were put in a pressure situation where they had no time to think it through.

I completely agree with with. Selling technique using our human nature against us.

I'm not sure if it should even be legal

+1 man, its worse this time as there is no lockdown and miner/scalpers to make the scarcity as bad. This is normal launch stock limit and people are throwing £1500+ like there is no recession!

Well congrats to everyone that wanted one and finally managed to grab one.

You can turn off those alerts now. :D

I passed on a Tuff on launch day because I had not seen any reviews. The MSI Trio keeps droppi g in small quantities, but I want one with a vapor chamber.

I just don't want one bad enough to buy any random card. I don't have FOMO this round. I have FOBR (fear of buyer's remorse)

Between the coil wine thread and cable roulette, I'm not in a hurry to give Nvidia my money. I intend to get one of the next-gen cards to get my sim rig running smoothly in night races with good settings, but I seldom do night races so it's not going to change my gaming experience most of the time.

I have enjoyed watching the scalper cards pile up though. They are trying so hard but they just aren't moving like the last time.

Exactly this. FOMO worked on a treat on my lack of self control.

Wasnt there a post a while back about nvidia trying to cut an order from tsmc as they had been getting oversupplied with dies from them? They're keeping FE cards scarce intentionally, they'll miraculously be knocking about for the rdna3 launch.

probably because the miner demand disappeared though and maybe they did cancel them or they are still trying to shift 3000 series.

kinda makes no sense to limit the 4090 artifically

Yep, there was news about them trying to reduce/cut TSMC orders

Oh it does, if rdna 3 is competitive and the xtx falls into a similar price bracket as the 4090 FE, it makes sense to have stock of the 4090 FE kicking about to make the decision harder at launch for people. As people looking for a 4090 wil likely plump for the fe as its the cheapest of the bunch, so far.

makes less sense than filling all the demand before AMD launches, But then it's probably a paper launch anyway

I've said it before and I'll say it again. What on earth happened to GPUs just simply being in stock since release date? It was like that for decades and now since the 20 series it's impossible to just search for the particular card you want and just buy it. Whether that be an FE or AIB card. I just don't get it. All the reasons that are put forward apart from keeping stock low to try and make maximum profit fits. Even then why not just bring them into as much stock as possible to see as many as possible!
Nah they've been a bugger to get at launch for a long time. I remember with the 480 I got day 1 seeing plenty of posts people couldn't get one.
1080 as well

Reading the last few pages it seems several people managed to buy an FE, nice 1 if that was you. I missed the drop :( was busy, wanted 1 for a mates gaming pc. Maybe next time.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for telegram/discord FE alerts ? Trying to bag one for my son. Cheers
