NVIDIA 4000 Series

Remember when gpu launches just used to show you benchmarks? Nowadays its all "performance per watt or performance per this or performance per that, just show the benchmarks ffs!
They did the same thing as Nvidia by giving us smoke and mirrors with upscaled numbers and avoided native numbers.

that benchmarks fine.. power is going to be a limiting factor soon,
but imagine the benchmark being shown in 4 combinations, comparing graphic cards is going to become a lot more tougher :D

I would have bet money there would have been an FE drop today, especially with the RDNA launch tonight, unless they drop them during the event.

That would be typical Nvidia games .. They are so obvious now they can't even do it anymore for the fear of being laughed at and getting more negative press....not like they haven't had enough with their recent firestarter edition GPU...

Anyone with a Suprim x oc? Are you able to confirm what the max % on the power slider is? I'm unable to go over 100% (450w). I'm 99% sure my power adapter cable (the 4th connector) is faulty.

Leaving the 4th connector unplugged still allows everything to boot and run, as you know, with 3 cables. If I disconnect any of the first 3 with the 4th connected, it will not post. I've swapped cables with known good ones etc...

I'm pretty sure it's not a bios hard lock (mine is the latest one that's not even listed on techpowerup up yet), just wanted to double check with someone who has a suprim air cooled.
Most I can do on mine is 108% with MSI Afterburner.

So anyone here with a 4090 thinking about returning or regretting their choice? I still feel the 4090 is the more powerful card if you want the absolute best but it’s just the price that really is the kicker. I am nowhere near as pc savvy as a lot of you guys on here so much of the tech stuff on these cards ‘ launches goes over my head so the launch last night left me with more questions than answers as to how the two cards (4090 v 7900xtx) actually stack up. I think I am still leaning to the 4090 but it’s hard to really know I guess until the 7900xtx gets into hands of people that can put it through its paces.

No regrets on my 4090 purchase. It fits my needs perfectly and I bought it based on rasterisation rather than DLSS. Only if 7900xtx exceeds rasterisation expectations to the tune of 90% of the 4090 would I start having buyers remorse.

For me no, can't speak for others but im very happy with my choice.

I also think the 4090 is overkill, so if someone wants to save money and doesn't need as much performance to drive their monitor they can try the 7900xtx

7900 xtx is 1000 dollars
If the stats are legit 4090 just got wrecked on price
May return the 4090, didn't open it just in case this happened
1000 dollars before sales tax? which exchange rate it will probably be a £1400 card and slower than a 4090 which isn't costing much more.

probably be scalped to hell an dback too when it finally launches, hope people who want one can even get a card before christmas

Same here, no regrets at all. But I was lucky enough to get the FE, and it's just fantastic.

Now if I'd paid £2k for one of the 'reference' cards from an AIB I might think differently. At least with the FE you're getting some sort of 'value' due to how well the card is designed, and of course how great it looks, and obviously performs :D

Debauer did a great video/rant on the 4090 basically saying AIB's need to wake up and stop designing plastic rainbow cards and make it look like £2k's worth of component, and cut out the bullpoo marketing that nobody actually believes.

I think the 4090 is kicking some serious ass going by amd's own numbers.. especially when some of the new features like SER etc are yet to be implemented in games, the gaps going to widen even further. I feel over time the 4090 will turn out to be much better than rdna3.
But is it worth the price and that's where my opinion becomes subjective.

I think thats par for the course these days. Why make it comparable to the informed punter...
and when is 4k not 4k..

No wonder the average gamer goes around asking if this game supports 144hz etc.. they don't know an fps from a hz.... soon people are going to be spouting how this is a 4k card and not knowing what 4k actually is
