NVIDIA 4000 Series

I don't play any keyboard and mouse games on my OLED TV, it's in my living room so I play with a PS5 pad while sat back in a recliner. I have a 25m HDMI 2.1 cable going from my PC in my bedroom through a wall to the living room to get connectivity and then the bluetooth aerial that came with my mobo is powerful enough to give me a signal for all my input devices. It's pretty bad ass. :D

All keyboard and mouse games that I play (basically any strategy games) are sat at my nice ergonomic desk and chair. :)
Yeah mate exactly my point, if you want to play OLED you have to run a setup like yours, but for KBM players its still awkward

I mean OLED isn't the big deal with what I wrote and you don't need one, I was just saying PC gaming is in a really good state with tons of options and that's how I am playing right now.

Absolutely fair tbh, don't blame anyone for not wanting to spend so much. What is the active backplate you are talking about? Got a link, I'm curious
Active back plate for water cooling the card , on the 3090 the active backplate actually was very useful as it had ram modules on the back of the pcb and would get roasting hot ... active backplate fitted cut the tempratures in half pretty much . EK have made the same design for the 4090 cards BUT there is no ram modules on the back of the card so will do very little for cooling ( maybe -5 deg ) but does look very nice if you have a water cooled build as i do :)

Oh a watercooling backplate, I get you now. I've still not been brave enough to go into custom watercooling. I will eventually, just need to research it more and be brave

Woah woah woah, OLED isn't a big deal? Now you've lost me :P the day they bring out an affordable sub 32 inch OLED is the day all other panels die

Will you be mounting the card away from the motherboard with a pcie ribbon cable?
I looked at the active backplate version and don’t think it would fit in the top slot due to clearance so ordered the regular version.

Also bagged an FE in the first drop this morning - frenzied minutes parked at the side of the road with the card getting refused not realising that the missus was getting the text from the bank, and even then, finally I had to ok it in the bank app as well.

Got it though - just as well I hadnt hit the bypass! Was contemplating a Twitter rant listing all my Nvidia products past and present and an out loud wondering as to what you have to do to bag a priority invite!

I've also got mainly an Asus Build but couldn't stomach the ROG Tax this generation especially considering it offers nothing if not worse performance than an FE or cheaper model... can understand why you would maybe want it for aesthetics but that's a big outlay just to make it look nicer but i do get where your coming from as i am considering an Active backplate for the 4090 FE even though it does sweet fa for cooling it certainly does look good but cost an extra £100 odd

Don't bother with the active backplate, it's just not worth the hassle and put the £100 toward some games ;)

Plan is to mount it horizontal like my 3090 strix was previously , good shout on if it will fit or not so will have a measure up to make sure but i didn't have any issues with the strix and its 3090 backplate while i know i few others with the same card who did have clearance issues . Seems to be ok on my Asus Maximus Formula Xii though but will double check to make sure :D

But it does looks much nicer , i know its very little gains in cooling but i really did like the active backplate on the 3090 and would like to continue that theme

I'm just about to order an EK block. Does the ABP version offer much compared to the standard block?

Just looks mainly , will offer some cooling on the back but don't expect miracles :D

As far as I can see it’s not worth it, the non active backplate will act as a heatspreader anyway and that’s all the stock card has.

Looks wise obviously if you’re going for acrylic and LEDs then may be worth it for those reasons.
See Jays picture above for example! Fancy looking :)

Nice Noctua black fans mate. Never understood people making a lovely PC then wrecking it with the baby poo & puke look :)

Jay when will the Zotac 4090 EK blocks come to the UK?
Did you get any luck flashing your 4090 with 600w bios?

I was probably one of the first people in the UK to order them , as soon as went live I bought 10...unfortunately that cost £300  stunning fans but their original colour scheme is horrendous imo

Still no idea when the EK blocks are coming for the Zotac unfortunately, apparently they have a few product announcements coming up in the next week so hopefully they get announced then , tbh with the amount of Zotac cards on the market I doubt it will be long at all as will probably end up as one of the most common cards at this rate as one of the only makes regularly in stock and are selling ...

You can get a Byski block for it now and the Framechaser guy just fitted one and did a review on it video below .

As for the Bios they are available to flash if that's something you wanted to do but probably would wait till the card is watercooled to help keep the vrm and other bits happy as will not be an issue once watercooled. Many owners have flashed their cards and it does increase the power if that's what you are after :)
