NVIDIA 4000 Series

Saw a woman on Ebay wanting 2000 pounds for a FE 4080 when they went on sale now, she is down to 1400 pounds i bet that's a sickener she might just get her money back at this rate lol.
I just laugh so hard tbh, even full time scalpers aren't interested in this, it's a sign really. Those small time crooks trying to get in on the action is finding out the hard way  .

Seems it's not just the UK right now with tons of 4080 stock just sat there.. i've been pinged all day for FE 4080's from France, Spain and Italy regions lol. It is not shifting AT ALL!

Started around 14:30pm and still sat there.

Not even, by the time you factor in eBay fees, postage and the fact they aren't even selling at £1400 (because they are in stock at retailers with actual warranty for that or less)

On the one hand I hope scalpers get stung, but on the other I hope they get returned so that Nvidia get stung.

If cards are sitting on shelves, then no reasonable person is going to pay full price on eBay, she will be selling the GPU at a loss

Sadly Nvidia is playing the long game and investors are now resigned to the fact that sales will be low this quarter.

What Nvidia is waiting for is for all RTX3000 stock to dry up because at that point if you want a high end GPU you have to buy a 4080/4090 at inflated prices or go AMD. Only AMD can prevent what happens next year when RTx3000 supply is gone.

So you will not see Nvidia drop prices, no matter how many 4080's are on the shelves, they are going to hold their poker face and wait to see how gamers respond to having no RTx3000 alternatives to buy. If gamers respond by buying AMD then Nvidia will have to drop price, otherwise they won't.

So if you guys want to see the 4080 price come down, buy all the 7900XTX and 7900XT stock that's available and keep buying it, only that will force Nvidia to lower prices. Buying older Nvidia cards will NOT make Nvidia lower its RTX4000 prices

3 series have been sitting around a while, a chunk of the market who want the best will buy 4090, but as we can see people won't pay over the odds for 2nd best so 4080 is sitting too. AMD have good potential by undercutting Nvidia, but even if people don't buy AMD, all they have to do is just not buy 3000's and not buy 4080 and Nvidia will still be forced to drop prices on the whole stack or just chuck tons of GPU's in the bin.

Cheaper prices are definitely coming imo, even AMD might be forced to drop prices on GPU's like they have on CPU's as demand across the board has dropped on PC's in general as everyone kitted up during Covid and seem to be happy sitting on what they have rather than upgrading.

Even people are not interested in buying 2 year old tech for MSRP. Near me I can find 3080's for £400 and 3090's for £600, retail.

Yup - the best of the best can command a premium and justifiably, even if not everyone likes it, can be a big jump up in price from second best, but second best not so much.

I saw these flying too :-

Let's stick to reality now. You have not seen a £400 3080 10GB of any form as they are in stock for £740+ for a rubbish AIB model and not seen a 3090 for £600 in any form as they have been out of stock for months and the FE 3090 has almost been out of stock a year soon and never sold for anything less that £1400, even when the nvidia site states price dropped to £1049 as they never came in stock ever again at a price under £1400 and same for the 3080s.

Even looking at second hand stores like CEX the second hand prices are over your retail prices as you are trying to state new prices, can you actually even find an in stock 3090 anywhere and if you can I bet you it is over £1200 double the stated price you state and any found right now are over £1350 and only the 3090ti fe is £1149 as they are trying to get rid of them too.

Can we stick to reality please and not ...

We are all upset but your agenda is a little unethical and sorry you are upset you cant get a 3080 or 3090 at your make believe prices.

Not happy about prices vote with your wallet as many are doing, if you need an upgrade well suck it up and buy what you need and you will see the real prices we all had to face for the last 2 years and many of us sucked it up and have voted this round to stay away from nvidia's games with pricing, they are even selling a 4090 FE that should be called a 4080ti at most at £1700 now a £651 increase from 3080ti FE at £1049. Just look at the 4090 chip and how much is cut and you will see it really is a 3080 even and the 3080ti at least had same cuda cores as a 3090 but half the vram. The 3090 had 2% turned off compared to a 3090ti full die, go see how much is sliced off a 4090 and then you will realise it's a 3080 class compared to last time with 24GB, the 4080 16GB is really a 4070ti at most too. The 4080 12GB was Nvidia really taking the micky even more and thought screw them (them being their customers) lets try it and see if we can get away with it, selling a 3060ti class from previous generation at most as a 4080 12GB. See how disgusting Nvidia has become now ?

Then AMD wait for their benchmarks and you will see they are also doing the same games and you will see the price per frame will land at what Nvidia currently has too. Just a slower card with AMD for the less money due to less performance, also look at AMD cpus now they have slashed the prices for them but the real problem is not just the cpu prices but the motherboard prices and the DDR5 RAM pricing, the whole platform is over priced.

Reality this time everything has stagnated and prices have gone up, the 4080 16GB is only max 25% faster than a 3090. Selling for £1269 FE and £1350+ AIB pricing right now and a strix is £1650+ .. it's all comical.
