NVIDIA 4000 Series

Does sound like a monitor issue in that case :( i did have a look at G8 firmware as well but all i found was the owners thread on reddit saying most have 1003 and one guy saying his new panel has 1004 . do you have tv you could try it on to confirm ?
Nope all the Tvs are on the wall. Ill buy a crappy Currys thing which are perfect for testing. This monitor is terrible for testing. The smaller the better for this type of thing.

And get stomped for import duties when you try to bring it back in the country.

And no, "It's a gift for my grandmother and cost less than £100 so is duty free" isn't going to work at customs. :)
I've walked thru customs with far more expensive things than a GPU, never been challenged.
It's drugs, expensive diamonds etc that customs care about, not a few hundred £ in VAT.

GOOD I say, GOOD. Let the scalpers suffer their own doing.

Tariffs are getting slapped on U.S Gpu's next month so prices will jack up

And I'm certain that NVidia and AMD will totally only put up US GPU prices, in reflection of the fact that these tariffs only apply to China to US imports, and totally won't just hike the MSRP in every region as an excuse to try and drive margins on consumer products closer to enterprise ones ;)

Really? Every wondered why VW paid out tens of billions in compo over dieselgate in US and very little in Europe?

Not to stray too far off topic, I was just being facetious for comedic purposes. Of course there is some, like the extreme violations VW did. Beyond that though, for more everyday instances and more basic functions like basic returns policies, the US has little in the way of any solid laws or frameworks beyond the massively inconsistent patch work some states have setup and struggle to enforce. Even then, those regularly fall short of what even we have in the UK.
