NVIDIA 4000 Series

Does sound like a monitor issue in that case :( i did have a look at G8 firmware as well but all i found was the owners thread on reddit saying most have 1003 and one guy saying his new panel has 1004 . do you have tv you could try it on to confirm ?
Seems the monitor is the problem. Just bought a crappy cheapo one which is having no problems with consistently showing BIOS first time.

Ironic , buy the latest and greatest you can and find it doesn't work as intended ... buy cheap £20 monitor and works perfectly  What the plan now , reach out to Samsung for an update or are you able to return the monitor for a refund and get something else ?

Samsung seem to be terrible with their monitor updates. Strange how they neglect such a critical feature, why would you want people returning products and wasting time when software updates can help?

The "something to declare" aisle at most UK airports I've seen are usually unmanned/closed, so I see how serious import duties are... I've taken a brand new MBP 16" through no problems
i've taken 800 fags through nothing to declare from turkey to uk could've made a few £ selling them but gave them away to friends and family.

Completely OT but I once came back from Jamaica with a girlfriend. She had 200 cigarettes in her case and got stopped, I had 3000 and walked straight through.

Did get a bit of a sweat on, I can tell you!

Don’t smoke any more though thankfully.

I’d happily walk through customs with a GPU in my hand luggage TBH, if the savings were worthwhile.

Samsung are renowned to have the worst customer service and warranties. they make great tv's and monitors but I know several people who wouldnt touch them with a barge pole due to issues previously experienced.

Now compare that with some like Dell who give 3 year next day swap out warranty on their monitors, are great to deal with when there is an issue and their screens come with a zero dead/stuck pixel policy and, as I discovered when i sold mine recently, the warranty is transferable to new owner with a simple online form and was processed in less than an hour.

Considering Nvidia was claimed to have over ordered from TSMC and wanted to cut the order, which tsmc said no. Well where are all the chips then? 6 weeks after launch and few 4090's around. seems like they are holding back to keep the price high.

Hope they get left with loads of them.

Well spotted. We did see them do this milking delay with the FE drops last gen so they are not exactly being descrete about it.
