NVIDIA 4000 Series

Well spotted. We did see them do this milking delay with the FE drops last gen so they are not exactly being descrete about it.
Yup waiting for those 4090's and probably 4080's in a year or 2 for basically half price lol. I see HU did a video recently on a new "3060" 8gb version to further deceive and milk people, what a bunch of utter clowns.

I know mate, and we still get strange posts of people defending the brand. Even the 'impartial' or ever so kind influencers are coming to terms with prices being a joke. It's undefendable. Lets unlaunch a card as it confusing, yet launch another (3060) doing the exact same shenanigans!

Was only pullin' you leg mate.

Thought you may have had a new build in the wings. Ho hum.

If your pulling my leg that's ok, was hoping no more falling out over graphics cards. :D

I am on AM4 so I think best short term fix would be follow you with the 3D cpu but would like to see that drop some more in price. My other finale with the platform would be a 5700X for under £200 which is very tempting.

Current overhaul would be costly enough, I am going to be patient I think and see how 2023 pans out. Any of the current top GPU's would need better system specs to do them justice, I usually rebuild about every 5 years.

3090 still an awesome card. As the X3D is so good and does allow AM4 (for a gamer) to last a good bit longer it would be a good choice. It's those 1% lows it excels in some games. Waiting for prices to drop - they may go a bit more but judging by the X3D thread, lots went at the £350 mark so less stock, but could pick up a bargain if your keeping an eye out. Cheaper in some places now. 5800X was £250 too.

4000 series gfx cards - I think they'll get a haircut price wise next year - when AMD release and the cost of living kicks in. Only afforded my upgrades (in my head) due to the summer being so dry, we didn't have the costs of drying the wheat as could cut it at the perfect (almost) moisture content. I'm done for a while - but reckon I've overpaid on a 4090 as can't see them staying that high. I am a terrible impulse buyer and expect to see some significant savings on the 4000 series for those that wait.

What cooler are you using on it? I have to retire this AIO as its very old now and have an Arctic Freezer e-sports waiting in the wings but think this would probably suit a standard 5700x better.

Is that what 3090/tis are going for now?
:D

I could've gotten £1000+ on eBay but he was still rocking a GTX 1080 and I'd prefer it went to a good home rather than some random on the internet. So long as I'm getting something for it I'm happy (and he's thrilled of course).

On top of that, a 4090 isn't too much of a stretch if you don't do anything particularly grand outside of your PC hobby - e.g. cook at home, don't drink or smoke, run a small 'regular' car, work from home, no fancy clothes

Fair few of my friends smoke, Go out drinking and fairly often buy junk food, I do none of those things.

They are all ordinary working people and a fair few criticize me of my spending on my PC stuff yet they go out on the weekend and quite easily spend £300 in 1 night that they excrete the next morning or onto a pavement during the night, Not to mention the money they spend throughout the week on drinks during lunch, Packs of cigarettes etc... but apparently that's different....

Well, my step-son's going to have a good Xmas - he's just bought my 3090 Ti Suprim X off me for £490

4090 Suprim X on the way - should have it on Monday!
You'll be very happy with the Suprim X. I love mines and it's so quiet under the 'Gaming' bios that there's no need to enable the 'Silent' bios.
