I actually got one into my basket and then thought better of it for this exact reason.

Unless money is of no value or if 1.6k is pocket change then seeing these price drops will bug you especially if you buy now and then get shafted in a few months when its a few hundred less again.

Totally agree! I also want to buy a replacement monitor for my ageing Dell U3818DW to be able to stretch the 4090s legs a bit.
