NVIDIA 4000 Series

Amazon will differ by country right. Cause I just checked and the rtx3060 is the number 1 seller for me, top amd card is the 6950xt in number 10 spot
The pov is that the 7900 launch pushed people towards 4080.. so, there was this pent-up demand with PPL sitting on the fence and suddenly on Dec 12 "the choice was clear"..

At any rate, i don't know how ranking stats are computed. But if I were to look at it subjectively the 4080 isn't getting a price drop

I think it will, 4080 FE is still sat there in stock and has been since the launch of the 7000 series. If they aren't outstripping demand they will lower prices to compensate. It doesn't look good when you have stock sat there not moving.

I believe the FE went OOS. This looks more like a Maxwell launch. It's ok not bad. Maybe they might include a free game or something.

It's just an opinion though someone with data can provide deeper insights into the launch.

Sorry i cant offer much help for undervolting , as mentioned i find it is very efficient as stock and only uses what it needs for the desired fps ... it is nothing like the 3090 was which was pretty inefficient.

Video on undervolt on why not to do it on the 40 series :)

That whole video is basically "don't undervolt because you lose virtually no performance and make big power/temp savings.....but I feel a bit uncomfortable. I'm speculating as to what's going on because I don't understand, so not sure if it's even right?"

I'll continue undervolting I think :D

I'm curious about undervolting but have no clue where to even start with it so will just use mine at stock for the time being I think. It all looks very fiddly/complex.

As i put personally i don't see a need to undervolt the 4090 as it does a good enough job left at stock and will only use what it needs . I have taken a few screen shots in various games i play and each running 4K max settings but capped to the framerate while applicable and currently in 90% of games the thing is underutilised and downclocks and drops power with it hence no need to undervolt the thing. In games where it needs more it will then get overclocked :D

Power usage for each in top left , 4th reading along in GPU power :)

The thing is I tried setting a fully horizontal voltage curve on a 4090 but it just doesn't work. There's always a residual ramp after 950 or something. I never figured out how to make it completely flat. Did anyone look into this?

Think you arrived at the wrong forum mate , the sign on the door says OVERCLOCKERS ... i will happily help you do that when needed:D but that UV word needs to be ban on here:cry:

In all seriousness though i find leaving it stock makes it very efficient and will only use what it needs ie MW2 in MP will use like 250w to 350w at 4K 120fps ... I am sure other indulge in that sacrilege act of undervolting and can help you further though ;)
Couldn’t agree more. With the 4090 I was shocked at how cool the card was at stock levels. I had to undervolt my 3090 because it was just terrible stock and getting very hot.

Galax "accidentally" announced the 4090Ti on their 4090 Hall of Fame product page, If it does come out I'm guessing around 10% more perf vs a 4090 with a release likely around late 2023 I imagine or if Nvidia follow the 3000 series launch maybe 2 years after the 4000 series launch and just before the 5000 series release.

Probably early next year I think. 2023 going to be a difficult year generally (inc disposable income, company earnings). Once the current demand has been absorbed I reckon NV and AMD will drop their prices somewhat. As long as the £ doesn't tank again, there will be room to move on price IMO.

This is my thinking too, how far they will drop is questionable though since you know according to nv MLID. Be interesting to see how far they back track on this.

Equally theres other videos on youtube saying absolutely undervolt your 4090.

I run mine at 950v 2.7ghz clock/800 on memory and get zero difference in game only in benchmarks and save about 100watts. Even if it is performing less stock for stock, as long as i can max out 4k/135fps then makes no odds to me.

Don't know what DPD are playing at but getting slightly worried someone's nabbed my 4090 FE at the depot.

Even the water block I ordered on Saturday has arrived faster then it, and that was DPD too.

This is getting a bit ridiculous, its now been delayed for the 7th day running. Might as well go pick it up from the depot myself, but of course you can't do that. Can't seem to contact DPD either their text chats all say unavailable and the call number on the site just goes through to some automatied tracking response, arent able to speak to an actual person.

925mv 2.7ghz +750mem pretty much stock for less power :)
