NVIDIA 4000 Series

I don't mean this in a snarky way, but I think most people on here didn't need convincing that a strix was never worth the extra over the founders edition or probably any of the other cheaper cards.
Which is why I’m not aiming this at those people. Sometimes people go for the most expensive thinking it’s better. Maybe I can save someone just like that some cash. In the past the higher end EVGA etc have had some slight advantages, this time isn’t the same.

What I’ve noticed on this forum is the people that aren’t being snarky come across exactly that. It also stinks of sour grapes. I can guarantee the people that do the most talking about certain products don’t even own them. No Snark meant, just if people spent as much time using the tech as much as they do talking about it but….it is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

What GPU do you have by the way considering you don’t need convincing of anything?

None. I ordered the Zotac 4090 on launch (5 year warranty > 2) sent it back, tried a 6900XT (as it was on offer for £649), that's currently back to OCUK (think it's faulty and was wary of AMD due to experience years ago) and I'll be replacing with another 4090 but obviously not a strix.

Not sure what that question has to do with anything anyway. Your edit to your post has just made you come across as really regretting your purchase above what you already stated. I assume when you talk about people thinking more expensive things are better you are talking about yourself?

I don't buy that it is sour grapes either. That is just a really basic conclusion to come to. Plenty of people on here are just astute with their money and simply wont pay those prices currently.

If I were to come on here singing the praises of a more expensive graphics card then fair enough, but it was the opposite.

The fact that you mentioned “snarky” in your comment shows you were well aware how it was going to come across.

As for your GPU choices……I rest my case;)

You cannot rest a case until you have actually presented one which you have failed to do other than in your own head apparently.
I'm sorry you have buyers remorse. However, I will heed your advice and will do my best to avoid paying extra for YOUR choice

This is an enthusiast forum. It was kind of stating the obvious.

Buyers remorse is buying something and sending it back…….Sound like anyone?

Why don't you send yours back then? Oh wait you can't. Yikes. Expensive mistake. Still it's not like you bought a lemon, could be worse.
Unlike you with the AMD card you mean:cry:.

I don’t need to save money, but as you stated the majority of people on here like to save money, so if I can help someone that’s my good deed done.

Stop faffing around and buy a decent card. Pointless trying to go for the cheaper option all the time, as you’ve already found out.

What made you decide to send back the Zotac? I'm thinking of getting one of their 4090's so useful to know others experience. My reasoning is like yours, the warranty.

Nothing exciting, was trying to be sensible as I wanted the Alienware OLED monitor too, so I decided I'd get the oled and try the 6900 for same price.
Then I decided actually I'll have both :D

Granted I have no idea what Zotac are like to deal with but paying that much and only getting a two year warranty seems crazy when you can get 5.

Cannot wait to see these RT overdrive puddles

As you drive a car through those sick puddles, the water droplets bounce up into the air and rays start intersecting the hydrogen atoms at a 4d level which causes them to accelerate and fuse into overdrive rays and then the rays are able to penetrate straight into your cranial cortex to deliver a subliminal message to your mind: "the more you buy the more you save"

the overdrive rtfunction only exists to make you feel like you need a new gpu :P

i'm glad i got my 4090 was going to go with the zotac again(have been zotac for to gens. after hearing some of the peeps had sent there's back it put me off so i went with the pny sure it might not clock higher than some of the more expensive ones but that's doesn't worry me at all.

If they are as ridiculously priced as their TUF and STRIX series then ASUS can go suck a big one. I am genuinely surprised they seem to sell so well when their markups are so outrageous vs other similar cards... it's grotesque even by the low standards set by PC hardware.
