...this really does pull the rug out from underneath Ampere. I sure hope Nvidia has cleared that inventory channel of Ampere cards....Q4'23 results on 22 Feb so I guess we'll find out then
Yes it is. A rebadged 4060ti.
Becuase it's been rebadged down from the ridiculous 4080 class it was originally launched as, people have just accepted it's a 4070ti, when in reality - it isn't. It was always a 4060ti, now NV can sell lower end cards and pretend they're 60 class cards, for more than the 60 class were last time around.
I'm assuming NV planned this all along knowing if they pretended to launch/unlaunch the original card as 80 card, if they were seen to to "back down" and relanch as a 70 card people would accept it and they have...
People are so easily scammed.
Nvidia were quoting the Steam user numbers early on in the CES presentation....+16% year on year....and this is in the year after lockdowns finished. We're in a PC gaming renaissance....Not sure on NVIDIA but we've had no 3090Ti or 3090 for months and we cleared our 3080Ti and 3080 12G a month plus back. All we have is 3080 10G at £700-£800 which is of no worry, selling silly fast and if they stop we have corporate customers who have demand on those.
lol £800 for a "x70" class card. Good luck with that.
Wouldn't touch the beta 7900xt(x) with a barge pole, you pay for what you getBring that 7900 XT down to £799, this x70 series won't stand a chance.
I was wondering the same and if they are putting up pre-orders.Plenty of stock?

Nor me, would be a custom partner card.

Still wouldn't touch them either given all the other issues
A lot of people seem to be forgetting that every generation the x70 card matches the performance of the previous x80/ti, the difference is it always used to be well under £500 which made it feel like a bargain. Slapping a "ti" on the end of the card doesn't change the fact it's a £320 increase over the 3070. It's a ludicrous situation.Sadly some people will buy - this "it is faster than the previous generation" so slapping more money on it isn't something the consumer should in any way support though. The 4080 should be a £800 card tops never mind any x70 class card.
I had a 6800 XT and never had any issues with drivers or the cards to be honest. Can't vouch for the newer gens at the moment.
rdna 4 will be the money makerRDNA 2 is great. Just RDNA 3 with all the teething issues of chiplet design, will probably improve after a year or so of driver updates though.

The steam numbers look good as all those mining Gpus nvidia sold have been going back to gaming rigs, new sales numbers don't look quite so rosy.Nvidia were quoting the Steam user numbers early on in the CES presentation....+16% year on year....and this is in the year after lockdowns finished.
