Said buyer will also have a penchant for eating crayons so he'll be right at home doing stupid things.

It's a pretty decent card if you are still gaming on a 1000 series card / playing at 1080 and are deciding to take the leap into 1440p gaming :) Absolutely agree that anyone sitting on a 4080 for example, it's not worth moving over.

Referring to the listings on ebay with the cards priced up a few hundred more vs the retail card. :p

Anyone care to explain why they didn't just reduce the price of the 4070 Ti to the price of the Super, or £20 more?

Marketing

New cards get benchmarks, reviews etc. and compared to AMD

A price cut is meh... might get a bit of a headline but HUB etc. won't be doing full reviews for a price drop

What are 3080 10GB owners doing then? Eyeing up the 4080S or 70ti super? I can sell my 3080 for about 350-380 so if any 70ti deals for £700, pretty tempted but feel like be better stumping up for the 4080s now

Nothing, I want minimum 40% performance improvement for same price I paid at launch, tbh @ 1440p it's still pushing the frames pretty well.

You'll likely be waiting until the 6000 series then as 40% more perf for the same price aint happening anytime soon, Not in 9-10 months when the 5000 series release but maybe in 3'ish years when the 6000 series releases you'll be able to get a 6060Ti for the 3080 MSRP with 40% more perf.

The supers are not that much better than the originals, 5000 series probably only a year away so I'll wait for those. If I'm going to pay close to £1k for a card I want a better upgrade than what is on offer now. It's not like anything I'm running now is dipping below 100fps anyway at 1440p.

Obviously that depends on how much you paid but I'm presuming you managed to get an FE at MSRP?

Tbh, the 4080 SUPER will offer over 50% improvement over the original 3080 and the FE at £949 won't be that much more than most people paid for a 3080 as they were almost impossible to get at MSRP.

If you're genuinely waiting for 40% improvement at £650 then you're probably waiting for a 5070.

That's good news, still showing as the regular price on their official store though.

Can't tell if they cut the price of the 7800xt as well, its showing as £473.

Seems the price of the 7800xt MBA card has gone back upto full price £568 , i guess they've given up for good.

Yes £650, been one of the best cards I've ever owned, and all that fuss over the limited ram, been three years already and still going strong.

I'm not dipping my toes into 1k GPU's anytime soon so I'll wait it out, @ 1440p with gsync it really helps make games feel smooth even at lower frame rates so I think I could stretch it out to a 5070.

How dumb is this getting, coolers seems to be to blame here with the weight of it cracking the pcb over time. And it also has affected FE 4090s in other vids. QC down the crapper.

It doesn't bode well for the rest of this year for Nvidia when the new Super refresh that was supposed fix the poor sales for Nvidia is selling this poorly at release when demand is usually at its highest.

I doub't they be able to afford to delay the 50 series till next year now since if sales are like this on day one they could be looking at a full on collapse come the summer.

Surely not a problem for those using GPU stands, I've been using the Zotac one from day 1, no flex or bend on the PCB at all using a stand. Maybe the FEs need to come with stands from now on
